The shopback can be use with any item purchase in Lazada combine with other promo code, i.e. DBS/POSB credit card promo?

Did you make your purchase through mobile app or PC?
As seen from pic, it's from pc. The last buy from browser within shopback app no shopback credited

This is an extra piece I bought as my gf has gotten her own SP the other day!

I will keep it as a spare for her as well as for myself in the unfortunately event that she or me break the original Mocolo SP! Touch wood! :s22:

Will this cover the proximity sensor?

Thanks Bobby Goh and also benny888 for answering my queries. I also googled for the difference btw global and china rom and found out that there's no much difference them except for no Google Play Store and language is limited to Chinese and English in China rom.

Some users even claim that China rom is less resource intensive as compared to global rom. I am planning to get the 64GB version.

I used China rom with note 2 b4 flashing to global rom. I can confirm global rom is much lighter and do not have those China "spyware" that is mandatory in those China rom.

Bro, what do you mean by "spyware", can give some examples?

Currently there is no official global rom for the 64 and 128 GB version of Mi Max so I will have to make do with the China.

Look at the SP. Left hole is for proximity sensor.

Confirmed and chopped! No issue with any sensors with this brand of SP! :s13:

I, myself have been using it (Gold color one) for almost 2 weeks already! :)

No regret!

That's why I highly recommend this Mocolo SP in the thread even though it's on the expensive side about USD$7 per piece! :s22:

Currently there is no official global rom for the 64 and 128 GB version of Mi Max so I will have to make do with the China.

The report that first raised the issue last year, the device in question was eventually found to be a fake.

Read this for details: http://www.xda-developers.com/bluebox-security-vs-xiaomi-who-is-in-the-wrong/#disqus_thread

“We are certain the device that Bluebox tested is not using a standard MIUI ROM, as our factory ROM and OTA ROM builds are never rooted and we don’t pre-install services such as YT Service, PhoneGuardService, AppStats etc. Bluebox could have purchased a phone that has been tampered with, as they bought it via a physical retailer in China. Xiaomi does not sell phones via third-party retailers in China, only via our official online channels and selected carrier stores.”

In a communication to BGR, Xiaomi stated: “There are glaring inaccuracies in the Bluebox blog post. Official Xiaomi devices do not come rooted and do not have malware pre-installed. Our investigation based on information received so far indicates that the phone Bluebox obtained is a counterfeit product purchased through an unofficial channel on the streets in China.”

Xiaomi has since released an update with their findings, which show that the device is not a genuine product and is in fact an exceptional counterfeit. Having the same internals, battery and labels as would be expected. The verification app was even fooled in this case and as such the effort required to confirm the authenticity of the device is far beyond that capablility of the average user. The hidden directory was the cause of this as any attempt to install the AntiFake app were intercepted by a copy present on the SDcard and after removing these fake applications the genuine copies could be installed and used to prove the device was not authentic.

After BlueBox ran the same tests on an official copy of Xiaomi’s MIUI ROM they received a far improved score of 6.7 and noticed many of the flaws initially detected were not present.

Also, usually the malware (if any) are attributed to those modified china rom, which are sometimes installed by 3rd parties like resellers/shops, this is not limited to xm, but also other brands. The one that are untouched/stock from factory with official rom should be okay.

Indeed, the fault mostly lies on unscrupulous seller preloading modified MIUI ROM and when users face something wrong, they can get away with it while tte user will blame it on Xiaomi.

I called Smartcell and they told me they would flash it to global ROM if it was a China set and they only carry 32GB version most probably because there is only official ROM for the 32GB version. Hope that helps.

The warranty on Lazada is only one month. Wish it could be longer.

Thank you bro for the clarification. Now waiting for the arrival of the phone..:s12::s12:

You are welcome. You can also verify if your phone is real or fake using this website: http://www.mi.com/verify/#secur_en

I recently bought a Redmi Note 3 export set from Smartcell and was verified as real Xiaomi and not fake.

Good thing about Lazada is the 14 days refund policy. If found out to be fake, you can always return and ask for refund :)

Guys, I brought a local set so I suppose it should come with a 1 year warranty. Question is do I need to register for the warranty to be effective?

i have all 3 color (gold, silver and white) with the dot matrix.type, whatapps me at 96736158 if keen. according to what i know, full coverage with dot matrix type does not has glue on the glass so the sticky part is only on the color frame portion. For those full coverage without dot type, the glue is on the glass but the frame is plastic.
