OTA weekly update for MIUI 8 Global stable ROM

Hi,

Read that some of you received OTA update on Global beta ROM. Mine is using MIUI 8 Global stable ROM, but since last week after I upgraded from MIUI 7 (which is default OS) OTA to MIUI 8, no further update is available OTA.

FYI, my phone was from Smartcell, 32GB version. I did not create a Mi Account when prompted since I do not need to flash it in order to get from Miui 7 to 8. Do we need to have a Mi Account to get OTA update?

All the different ROMs are on different update timings, stable ROMs are on the slowest updates for obvious reasons. You don't need a Mi account to get OTA updates.

Once you have updated to MIUI8 Global Stable rom, you will no longer be able to receive MIUI8 Global Beta rom via OTA.

MIUI8 Global Stable OTA and MIUI8 Global Beta OTA are in a different update pipeline altogether.

You have to be running MIUI8 Global Beta rom now on your phone to be able to receive OTA for subsequent Global Beta OTA.

The 2 roms do not or cannot cross-OTA each other one..

Currently, there is only one version of MIUI8 Global Stable rom. No OTA since then for phone running the MIUI8 Global Stable rom.

As for MIUI8 Global Beta rom, it is a weekly OTA affair.

Any games & stylus to intro for this phone? This phone is superb until I park my note7 at home now need a stylus for mi max .

None of them will be like Note 7 stylus which has an active digitiser. For phones like Mi Max (and other touch screen phones), it'll be one of those stylus with a soft tip. There are some slightly better/sharper ones out there but these will be approaching $100 and still won't be anywhere near as good as Note 7 in precision/ease of use/features/etc.

I got this. It is ok but not fantastic. For that price, can buy and try.

I heavy user of Note3 for 3 years also don't see any burnt in. Maybe you're unlucky.

Maybe it's there and you did not notice it.

China ROM only has three languages, which are: English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
