can own self fix ma? for the cable? like replug in and out?

i meant the LCD ribbon cable.

since after you logged in and it returned normal, unlikely to be lcd issue.

try resetting SMC...

I advise you to send for service. Hope yours is under warranty.

Might be screen problem, or graphics(motherboard).

mine no warranty.

Then better go to normal repair shops instead, they might replace the parts to OEM @ a cheaper price instead if you''re ok with it..

Authorized Apple Service Centre may charge you 800 and above 1k...
That's what I've been told from the CSO..last time I asked how much for a replacement for Macbook Pro motherboard..

Luckily I was under warranty and it's free.

Try and survey both authorized and non-authorized apple service shop..

Does your Macbook pro model fall under this programme?

https://www.apple.com/sg/support/macbookpro-videoissues/

If so - just go to an authorised service centre and go for a diagnostic to see if you're eligible for a free repair.

mine is - MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2011)

So i just go in to the service center and ask for diagnostic to check if im eligible for free repair can le?

To diagnostic need to pay ma?
When they do diagnostic is it on the spot? or they need few days to get back to me?

No need to pay for diagnostic - that one is done on the spot at the repair centre. If you pass the diagnostic - they'll take it in for repair and send you any quotations for repair that are not covered under the programme. Just need confirm with the service person that they'll inform you if there are gonna be any charges. I had mine done in Aug this year with no issues and no extra charges (though they did quote me the price of a replacement HDD which I declined to have repaired) .

They have a graphics/motherboard replacement programme...

My graphics went wrong last time.. and they change it for free.. maybe because I was still under warranty... not sure though..

Did you try video out? My 15" MBP works when video out, but if using LCD screen, nothing appears.

That's about 6 years ago, which I sold off the MBP for parts.
