Dear readers and members,
We've updated our content classification system to better address the requirements set out in
IMDA's Code of Practices for Online Safety.
To ensure a better viewing experience for all users - adults and youth alike - we've updated our content classification system to classify all posts if the post content is A) suitable to all viewers or B) viewable only to those age verified to be above 18.
This classification is done in real-time at the point of posting by an AI classification model, trained in-house. As with automation through AI, posts may be mis-classified and we're happy to look into them if they are reported/informed to us via our feedback channels.
This new content viewing schema deployed also allows us to remove the previous age-check self-declration pop-up box. However, to view all posts, you would have to age-verify yourself to be above 18 through SGid.
This is optional, and it's up to personal choice and preferences, but not age verifying would mean the system will treat users as though you're a youth by default. Some posts may not be viewable if the system classifies them to be age inappropriate, but they are not against our content policy rules.
Thank you for your kind understanding.
FAQ
Q: Why are many old posts not viewable?
A: Most posts prior to 2024 have not yet been classified by our content classification system and thus, they are only accessible to those who've age-verified to be above 18. We're aware of this limitation and the system will parse all the older content in due time.
Q: How old do you need to be use HWZ Forums and what can be expected?
A: Please refer to our
FAQ in this help section.
Q: What information does HWZ collect through this age verification process?
A: Please refer to our
FAQ in this help section.
Q: Does that mean I can now post "above 18" content if I'm age verified to be an adult?
A: Please note that all content is subjected to our
Content Policy advisory and for avoidance of doubt, these are some of the
eggregious content types that we strictly
do not allow. There are no changes on this front.
