I am curious to buy this too .. how to buy ah ? i see the XDA link is taobao , not sure if can buy from ali express or qoo10 ? did u by any chance get extra ?

Does the Xiaomi MIUI8 allow encryption of microsd card? Encryption as in once the card is removed and connected to PC, the computer can't read the contents.

I remember from the Redmi 2 days that MIUI doesn't support microsd encryption. Not sure whether anything's changed.

I personally didn't try this. But somebody said that MIUI 8 got encryption for microSD card also.

Problem is that, if your phone is spoilt, you can say bye bye to the data on the microSD card liao.

For us, no need to unlock bootloader. Skip those sections.

This is the basic guide.

But before going to the guide above, you must do the following:

Download Mi PC Suit in order to have the Qualcomm 9008 driver installed in your pc. This driver is a must for the miflash tool to recognize your Mi Max in fastboot mode.

Disable Windows driver verification signing. This is the guide.

True , now I am helping one guy to revive his set , looks like the seller put his mi account and locked it with find mi , so when we flash the rom on boot it asks for the password of the sellers mi account . this is not good why would the seller lock the device with his cloud account and sell ?

MIUI itself has its screen lock widget called "Lock". Apply it on the Dock and you are good to go without the need of installing 3rd party app.

There are also many other widgets (for Toggle functions) that you can utilize them in a nice and uniformed icon size and shape.
