Those looking for a driver, i would recommend Ah Hui/阿辉 (+886988090976). Hr has been recommended several times by others but i would like to just give him another vote of approval for the wonderful service provided! Chargeable fees for taipei tour is arnd 3500/8hrs or 4000/10hrs.

Our group of 4 book him for a day trip to yeliu,jinguashi,jiufen and shifen and we were glad he was our driver as he really took care of us really well throughout the trip. He was attentive and humourous, and we spent most of the journey chatting and laughing with him.

Out of his own initiative, he bought us a packet of fruits, worrying that we would be hungry as we had a 1hr journey to jiufen frm yeliu and it was already lunchtime. He also treated us to beef noodles and chicken cutlet! He also wanted to buy us his favourite bubble tea but the shop was closed (i ended up tipping him extra as i felt bad that he kept buying us food haha).

The last thing i must mention is his driving skills. Never once did i felt uncomfortable, carsick while in his car. He is a very smooth driver and u can hardly feel the brakes when he slow down, no jerkiness whatsoever.

So, if u are heading to taiwan and need a driver, please do nit hesitate to look for ah hui! Do note that he only speaks mandarin.

Rented 20-seater minibus, highly recommended

I just came back from Taiwan with my 11-member extended family, including 2 elderly, 1 toddler, 4 other children, and 4 other adults. I rented a 20-seater minibus from safetourbus and I cannot recommend the company more highly. Everyone in my family had a great time traveling Taipei - Taichung - CingJing - Hualien - Yilan

(I am in no way connected to safetourbus except in the capacity as a fully-paying customer.)


I recommend safetourbus.com because:

- everyone was extremely professional, from all the customer service officers I liaised with to my bus driver Mr Chen (he was knowledgeable, intellectual, extremely professional). I liaised with the customer service officers in english and they would reply in Chinese, guess we both used google translate ;P
- the price was very affordable; I compared prices of hiring a minibus (~400SGD per day) to 2 private minivans (~500-550 SGD per day)
- Mr Chen told me that there is constant feedback from the drivers to the customer service officers so they are very knowledgeable
- Mr Chen was a superb driver, and that was extremely important when driving the slightly dangerous mountain road from CingJing to Hualien through the Taroko National Park.
- Minibus comes with reliable wifi, TV & dvd player, thumbdrive port for movies, umbrellas, water and plastic bags
- Minibus was pretty new and very comfortable (no smell at all)


I think I got a bit lucky with Mr Chen as our driver too heh coz he is definitely not the typical driver.


Guess my only complaint is that I had to make my payments in cash day-by-day and had to run the risk of losing my cash, but this was done so that I would not have to incur 4.5% service charge by paypal if I were to pay the amount online.

Another +1 recommendation for 帅辉。

On Oct me and my GF booked his service for 10 days TW 环岛. Total Charges is NT44000 and its a van. we are lucky as he just got his new car and 44000 was quoted base on his previous car

As i have some trouble transferring the deposit to his TW bank account, he decided not to take any deposit from me, that include deposit for Hotel.

Throughout the 10 days trip we really have lots of fun and chat from A to Z. The feeling is more like travel with friend rather than just a driver who send you from point A to B. He told us he is very happy that we r smoker coz he can smoke together with us in the car especially long journey ride. lol

I would like to recommend an efficient driver, 可樂. He is not just another driver, but he also provides good service as a family tour guide. He accompanied us throughout the journey for 1 day tour within Taipei during our visit. We went to usual tourist attraction sites such as 九分,十分 and super scenic ocean. I contacted a few drivers prior the trip and 可乐 was the most responsive. He followed up diligently and made practical recommendations which we deeply appreciated. Why 可乐？

Safety- he did his homework daily and checked the conditions of the routes we were traveling each day.He was very alert on the road conditions and responded very quickly on different situations.
Helpful- Helped us to look for good food, places to go and proactively ensured we were comfortable with the choices. Even after the trip, 可乐was still helping me to rectify an error made by a shop that packed a wrong tea set for me.
Flexible- we were probably the laziest tourists and 可乐adjusted to our pace though we knew he was dying to show us the best of Taiwan and helped us to take pictures.
Cost - the trip cost NTD 35k for 6 days, as we have 2 free days in Taipei. . Might not be the cheapest but certainly worth it. Everything was taken care of. Very thoughtful and considerate man.

I would like to recommend the cab driver whom I have engaged for my 1 day tour to:
- Yeliu Geopark （野柳）
- YinYangHai （阴阳海）
- Shifen （十分）
- HuangJin Waterfall （黄金瀑布）
- Jiufen Old Street （九份老街）
- Raohe Night Market （基隆夜市）

The reason for recommending him:
1) He is a humorous, modest and caring guy
2) He provided us with both umbrellas and disposable raincoats as it was raining on the day of our tour
3) He also acted as our photographer and even told us on how we should pose for our pictures. The pictures which he took for us turned out to be very nice!
4) He was also quick in sending me the photos which he took for us via WhatsApp
5) He jokes along the way and gave us brief explanations of the history of the sightseeing places which made our day very enjoyable despite it was raining which normally kills mood during tour.
6) He made arrangements for us to buy the railway tickets from Shifen to Ruifang so that we are able to experience their railway. As he was worried that we might lost our way or get off at the wrong station, he kept constant contact with me through WhatsApp. He was waiting for us at the entrance/exit point of Ruifang Station so that we can see him immediately once we come out from the gantries.
7) At Jiufen, unlike those usual drivers who will drop tourists off at the entrance for tourists to walk on their own, my driver 可乐 would park his car and walk with us and guided us into Jiufen Old Street. He would also point to us on which stall to patronise for the famous local snacks and food. All these are of extra mile service to ensure that we would not be ripped off at Jiufen.
8) At Raohe Night Market, he would also recommend us on which food that we should try and which food is nice etc…

We had totally enjoy our day tour with him that I even book him for our return airport transfer by just giving him 2 days advance notice. Luckily, 可乐 was able to squeeze out time to fetch us.

On our departure day, he actually arrived 30mins earlier than our meeting time!

Before sending us to the airport, he specially brought us to have our lunch and it was his treat! Although it was just a simple bowl of mee sua, but the mee sua was much tastier than the famous Ah-Chung Mee Sua!!! It was really nice of him and we are really touched by his gesture!

The most touching gesture was when he messaged me to check if I have safely arrived Singapore! I have never come across any tour guide or driver who would still ensure our safety even after we have departed from their country.

Ting Ah Yee Recommendation

I'd like to recommend Ting Ah Yee (Ting auntie): +886 981185647 (mandarin-speaking) (line)

She's the friendliest taxi driver that I've ever met, full of enthusiasm and optimism.

For my upcoming trip to taiwan, my friend convinced me to use her services but I initally resisted at her high price (5200nt = 240sgd / day).

I was finally persuaded since his family had used her services when they toured Taipei few years back and they were satisfied. Also prior to the trip, Ting Ah Yee was responsive to my friend's questions.

Things she did that made her services worthwhile:

She drove carefully.
She explained the attractions in detail.
If she's familiar with the area, she would recommend good restaurants.
She'd recommend another attraction if the schedule is tight
She was our personal photographer.
(Bonus) I felt like she was a mother to us.

Day 1-> Taipei (where we stayed overnight) -> Taichung
• Some nice flower attraction (great for gals)
• Some nice paper attraction (where 90% of everything inside is made of paper-related mat)
• Gaomei Wetlands (Giant windmills and foodstands)
• Fengjia Nightmarket (next to our hotel: Chase Walker Hotel)

Day 2-> Taichung -> Cingjing
• Some colourful low-rise houses that an old man singlehandedly painted, and whose sudden popularity caused the government to stop orders to demolish the houses)
• puli winery and 18 degrees chocolate shop (great chocolate, buy the green tea flavor)
• Sun Moon Lake (lovely lake with a nice atmosphere plus shops) would consider staying here overnight in the future)
• cingjing farm (sheep horses grazing on beautiful rolling hills plus mongolian horse show)
• hotel (Shangrila Hanging Garden Resort)

Day 3-> Cingjing -> Hualien
• Hehuanshan (lots of mountains, good for photo-taking)
• Taroke Gorge (This route is dangerous, there are places where only a single vehicle can pass thorugh, and a crash can set everyone behind on a jam that may last for hours! Thankfully our trip here was smooth)
• 7 Star beach at hualien (where the sand are stones, and the ocean view coupled with the surrounding mountains is fantastic)
• hotel (ocean-facing: 36 Lighthouse)

Day 4-> Hualien -> Taipei
• Falgory ocean park (abit lame la, good for kids only)
• yilan (stopped to buy some food)
• Shifen (lighted sky lanterns)
• hotel (Rich Garden Hotel)

Last day was our 9th day in Taiwan, Ting Ah Yee pick us up from the hotel, brought us to eat better mian xian (compared to Ah Chung), and recommended a place to buy taiwan pineapple tarts and other goodies, before dropping us at the airport (FOR FREE) yup, as part of her 4-day package, she promised to give us a lift to the airport
