anyone know if the quotation below is reasonable? i got $50 quote to service 2 interior aircon units, just normal cleaning and svcg as one of e units dripping water, no gas topup or chemical overhaul

then they said 2 external compressor located outside apartment very dirty (1 big and 1 small) and quoted $80 per compressor for cleaning, so total $210 just to service compressor and aircon

i know $50 for 2 interior unit is market rate, but how about svcg @$80 per compressor? appreciate advice

Redcon Air charge $60 for 2 units...:D:D:D

just go google it bro. should be able to find out what is it for ur own curiosity. but i got an error code that indicates power problem but when i got my usual guys over to check they just replaced some parts and all is well.

my guess is the error code may not be an accurate indication but the experienced guys can narrow it down for you. better to contact your contractor to check it out. if you dont have one, can try out my usual guys. just google 'newway'. i find them to be pretty reliable and honest.

Anyone able to pm me contacts for good aircon services. Looking to do a chemical overhaul for a system 3 and maybe top up gas. I was quoted 540 for a home based techician from a fellow friend. Want to know the options out there.

I see everyone asking for Mr Ng or Ah yi contacts. If anyone is able to share their contacts for inquiries that would be great. Thanks.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this Mr. Ng :s22:
Based on this thread i decided to try this Mr. Ng to fix my casement aircon and what a nightmare! Initially he assessed and concluded that it's a simply a case of coolant top up but told me he had to bring back to his workshop. He quoted me $150 initially i was a bit shocked cos the prices mentioned here hovered around $50+ for actual/split unit but he assured me he would "do a good job" and we settled on $130. A few days passed he came over and reinstalled the unit and just to confirm i ran it one night and after 6 hrs the unit broke down! When he came down he noticed my spoilt multi split unit and told me if i want he can get me a refurbished single split for $9xx and that this was "market price" I was now suspicious because my initial research before getting the casement was single splits and brand new unit can come cheaper than this! So the 2nd time he came he only top up coolant again and sure enuff this time after 3 hrs the unit broke down! My last conversation he told me it was suspected compressor leak and i told him the 1st time he took back to workshop i was under impression that proper assessment of the fault was done and that end of the day i have parted with $130 and had not one but two breakdowns and the problem was not resolved! He said he could fish for a used unit and mentioned something like "transplanting" compressor or the like and to give him "a few days" That was 3 weeks ago :s22:

In conclusion for me

#1 No/not enough due diligence shown - took back unit problem not correctly identified

#2 Not as cheap/professional service as suggested by some in this thread IMO

#3 Little/no follow up

Previously, I ran a mitsubishi inverter aircon. And yes, outdoor unit PCB spoil (after 1.5yrs for me). Servicing company cannot fix, need mitsu ppl to come in.

Mitsu ppl diagnosed and replaced the inverter board, and fixed the issue for one week, then suddenly shut down again. This time replaced main pcb board. then all fine. Total cost was $700+

No other option, cannot possibly replace aircon, so LL pay money for repairs.

No more mitsubishi aircon for me.

dissapointed that I waited almost 2 weeks for the aircon man to come cos of his tight schedule and then he rejected my servicing cos there was no parking at my place. I offered him another place that is about 50m from my place and free parking and offeres to carry his equipment also but he didnt want cos he left already. sian. waste of time waiting for 2 weeks.

I need an aircon man to take out the coil from the FCU and then clean it in the toilet with chemical wash. 2 FCU.

anyone can recommend?

Anyone using Panasonic aircon?

I am currently using cu-xs9rkz and after switching on via remote control, it usually take some time (30 secs or so) for the unit to blow out cold air.

Just wondering is this normal.

This is normal for Panasonic, as the system will wait for the compressor to be activated before the fancoil fan motor starts spinning.
