This sound like me and average. :s12: :s12:

if u age 20-30, wanna go aggressive a bit, 20-50% of portfolio in small caps like hock lian seng, ISO team its fine... higher risk higher returns

but if u semi retired or retired or going to retire, you cannot afford to put money on small caps as your want to
1) preserve capital
2) make a stable but reasonable return of say 5-10%

If u can't convince, confuse him.

He's a stubborn man, I warned him against genting sp when it was ~2.10

He FIFO a couple time during the bullish period and made few grands and re-entry at 2.17 (IIRC) and didn't sell when it dips, Current paperlose at 30k:(

Its not easy to convince a stubborn man to sell a profitable stock.

It is evident that his investment strategy is like playing lottery (or tikam), picking all the "high growth potential " penny stocks and hoping that they will grow

Back then, I was too young to get involved in stock market. Now I am trying to cut his losses and hopefully rebuild to a profitable portfolio

Yes capital preservation is the name of the game.

Stay away from junk stocks and bonds. :s13:

Wah market jin resilent! newbie here! so pardon my post.

This is the first day of market pullback. I feel market should pullback a few days or even trade sideways before a move higher. During this pullback, sideways momentum, I would be looking at stocks that pullback with a light volume. Also i feel sector plays an important part.

Personally i feel properties have room to run if STI were to head higher. those 2nd liner stocks are worth a watch.. ho bee.. wing tai.. wheelock.. the 1st liner also buay pai..

Agri stocks also buay pai.. and last but not least, it will be genting. i see other casino stocks such as MGM(HKSE) Galaxy(HKSE) also heading higher.. since market confidence improving, more people will be heading to the casino to gamble?

Besides this, I cant see any more kangtao. if you guys see any, remember to share share!

Sgx got corporate bonds
But most are unrated junk bonds

For those new to bonds should start off with ssb and sgs first
Or maybe abf bond etf

Once more familiar then consider quality corporate bonds pile fcl 3.6% cmt 3% genting 5% etc

Managed to sell off at $1.39, that $0.005 is $320 difference in profit, he definitely wont lowball it

Now I am looking at his 18 other counters to cut losses
