ya confirm, i read before GS if need repairs, go straight back to Jipun de :o

Thanks. read in Aussie Seiko Site advising not to buy from non-"Authorised" dealers. Wonder whether its true.

Any bros have had the experience having to send back to Japan?

This has implications on my impending purchase of a JDM Seiko

Padi probably soften liao

Now is green turtle followed by the samurai turtle

well bro AyuReady, i did a price check at people's park complex and chinatown point the other day when i saw a couple of available PADI turtles in their deluxe boxes.

mind you, both dials weren't even perfectly aligned (yes, a lamentable QC problem that should NOT happen to a company like seiko that prides itself on its QC, and a source of grief for many serious collectors).

they're listed at ~S$650.

the one at people's park (1st floor AD)? $600.

the one at chinatown point (open space next to samsung shop)? refuse to even budge from the RRP!

well, i learnt my lesson when i bought my yellow accented srp639k at the height of its craze. AD set some more! parallel import prices of brand spanking new srp639k now? less than $400. :(

it pays to be patient and not go crazy.

* will resist the PADI turtle poison until prices return to sane levels * :(

So would you go the PI route in the future?

i wear like that when i need ready access to 4 timezones on wrist! :D

It's the perfect situation for when you need the time of 4 different time zones, between two dates and when you are 300m underwater battling a Megalodon.

If I may suggest, the combo of the two watches can be named 'Megalodon', not sure why but I see some resemblance in the dials with the picture below.

Can find online at $400-$500 la.

The other time got bug on Qoo10, $330, can see the Seiko Club people asking about it and then snap up a few copies to resell for profit.

I would think so esp after tax rebate but I think yen is against us now?
Cannot buy at SRP even if tax is rebated since must pay GST when return.

I guess the Yen is high now but if the tide floats all boats, then buying anywhere else would likely be the same.

Hope to find some time in Tokyo as well.

haha i'm with the Movement Manufacturing Division. i make sure you all get your 4R and 7S movements.

Sent from Samsung SM-G930F using GAGT

bro lyrrom, i've always respected seiko as a true fully vertically integrated watch manufacturer right down to their own screws, hairsprings, lume, crystals, dials, cases, bracelets and of course, their reliable movements. seiko has more claim on the "true manufacture" label than most swiss brands. after all "swiss made" is merely 50% (now 60%) of the watch value originating in switzerland. many swiss brands outsourced parts and WIP to sweatshops outside switzerland.

any idea when will seiko FINALLY retire the 7s26 movement in the skx007/009 and migrate it to 4r36?

shouldn't the skx007/009 finally get the windable/hackable love that even lower seiko 5s are getting for years now?

also, can you share where the worldwide factories are located? where's the one in sg? is there a local seiko museum that we can visit like in japan?

there used to be "movt singapore" like decades ago printed on some seiko dials. i never see them now. what gives?

and J series seikos - are they really FULLY made-in-japan?

and where are the K models made in?

why the J series parallel import seikos commonly found in parallel importers feature alternate arabic day wheel and not other languages?

how come only local AD sets get the nicer roman numeral day wheels? WUS forums seem to think roman numeral day wheels are for asia only cos the yanks only get secondary day wheels, haha. true?

any way to source for roman numeral secondary day-wheel seikos OUTSIDE of local AD network?

are they any way we can get TRUE jdm made-in-japan models for the popular models in the skx/srp/sarb/etc range with the more authentic kanji 月,火,水,木, 金,土,日 secondary day wheels locally & affordably?

thanks for all your answers, bro lyrrom! :)

but those are parallel import sets with the plain white box. i know some are ok with that.

but as a collector, i'm looking at the full PADI package with the big faux leather PADI branded box and ALL the PADI trimmings. :)
