Hey I did during the last week of Feb, so it took around 3 weeks I guess, I couldn't make it for their deadline which was mid Feb, so I asked for it to be postponed for another week.

hi welly,
Don't worry too much, the essay test is quite straight fwd asking yr opinions on ethics of a teacher, they will give u a scenario like is it alright for teachers to give tuition till it affect his/her work eg markings & subsequently affecting e students. Qns are more to moral issues affecting the teaching profession.
After 5 mins is up they will start e interview proper asking u qns eg why u wanna to teach etc & what do u know about the current teaching landscape so its wise for u to surf MOE website & look & what is offered eg Values-In-Action (VIA) for students etc.

True that! Everyone will be given a chance, i believe! Me - 3 years in the media side. Just feel that i can do something more than just working my ass off being in the media industry haha!

Just not pretty confident of my education background! Yikes!

I believe you would have chosen your preferred subjects/level applicable when you apply for the diped/pgde. They will just review those, look at your qualifications/experience and see what would be the best. Thus, the choice of subjects/level offered.

Oh i meant during the interview whereby they request you to teach for 5 mins. I was curious on wad topic did they request for? Was it random?

topis that u hv to present to e panels will be your teaching subject1 that u've applied during your online application. MOE will email u saying scheduled for interview for eg Maths (Sec) so u will hv to go to MOE website & check out the syllabus for Maths (Sec) & from there choose a topic to present eg algebra or quadratic eqns. Topic that u choose to present must be in the MOE content syllabus (don't choose wrongly) as the panels are very senior educators like Principal, Superintendent or from CPDHQ. My advise is to choose something simple, what they want to see is that u got e confidence to present in front of e class (not soft) & how u manage rowdy students as sometimes e panel will disrupt e class by making noise or throwing paper around so u got to show them that u are in charge.
The most important is to remain calm & potray confidence - voice projection is important here - be clear & ensure u're loud enough.
Btw when is your interview, for what subject/level?

Malay & music.. not much to choose from. I've been working since I grad from poly abt 17 yrs ago. Gosh, i feel so old! Diploma holder but it seems so many uni grads applying too. My chances are so slim!
