Hi Guys,

I'm heading to Kyoto for the first time, but i'll be based at Osaka.
I've got 3 days reserved for Kyoto day trips but so far i've only got this 2 days planned out.

Day 1
Arashiyama
Kinkakuji
Nijo

Day 2
Fushimi Inari
Gion
Kiyomizudera

Day 3
???
(Nara if no plans)

Any advise on how we should spread this few places out into 3 days without feeling so rush or is the plan good to go? Any other recommended places for first timers?

u may want to shift kinkakuji and nijo to day 3 coz arashiyama can take the whole day.
u can also consider adding some more places, such as Hieizan, philosopher path, maruyama park etc

nara deer park is nice.. worth a visit. maybe half a day will do

Got any advise on the Itinerary for this trip?

P.S. might be a solo trip and first time going=x

yes, tt is wat i will usually do.
coz tokyo is likely where u will do ur shopping and buy souvenirs/food back. so make it ur last stop.
it is also good to be nearer to ur airport on ur last day. in case there is any train disruption, u still got other alternative to get to airport.

What transport should we take from Haneda to say Hakone in Kanagawa? If I touch down the airport at 9.40am, what will be the earliest I can reach Hakone directly from Haneda? By then will it be too late to start the Hakone Free Pass?

a few options:
1. go from haneda airport to yokohama then odawara by normal train, then buy the hakone free pass from odawara (within free area version, does not include round trip to shinjuku)

2. go to shinjuku first, then buy the hakone free pass that include the round trip. this is probably the slowest way

3. fastest but most expensive is go shinagawa and take shinkansen to odawara

thanks bro for taking time to pen ur reply!

have u try staying in airbnb? i see the price steep for hotelstays

was planning to go with my wife and a guyfriend.. so perhaps a entire apartment or 2 rms will b much better than staying a pricey hotel

I have stayed AirBnb a couple of times in Japan.

TIP: Before you book, ask which is the nearest station the property is at, or read reviews to get clues. Some listed on the map are displaying false location. It may put it's location super close to a station, but in reality its 20 + mins or few stops away
