Hi guys, I updated to 8.2.1 on China stable ROM and I got the following problems:

- Apps using location based services cannot work
- Google maps cannot find my location based on mobile data
- Overheating and battery dies very fast

I want to downgrade my ROM. Anyone able to guide me to flashing in simple terms? I read the forums but find it very hard to understand.

Tried to flash with the following steps:
- I've unlocked my bootloader
- Enabled USB debugging
- Connected device to PC. Under device manager by right should see xiaomi ADB but cannot see at all. Now stuck at this step :(

I remembered when I first flash to CM13 from merchant rom, then after that flash from CM13 to Nougat MIUI Global rom and to Lineage OS 14.1.. Took me 6 hours each time to do it, most of it spent on troubleshooting.

But it was worth it... Lineage OS is super smooth with no lag, only lag is when using OpenCamera.

You don't need to enable USB debugging for flashing your device.
Maybe your are thinking to enter EDL mode using adb but xiaomi has blocked this method.
Since your bootloader is unlocked, download miflash and fastboot rom then you can flash your device in fastboot mode.

Have you install the driver for adb/fastboot? Search online for the driver
After you have installed the driver, go to the directory that you hv your adb/fastboot and open administrative privilege command prompt and type in "adb devices"
Your phone should also prompt u on allowing the pc to connect to your phone (note you hv to be in mtp mode), just allow at the prompt. You should see some device id of your phone from the result after "adb devices". This proves that adb drivers hv installed properly and adb/fastboot can run.

THIS IS CORRECT. NO ONE SHOULD UPDATE TO 8.2.1 MY PHONE BATTERY DEAD WITHIN 3 HOURS. GPS DOESNT WORK, OVERHEATS, ONLY ONE CPU WORKS. DO NOT UPGRADE. XIAOMI HAS HAD NO FIX FOR OVER 1 WEEK. YOUR PHONE WILL BE A PEICE OF RUBBISH AFTER UPDATING TO 8.2.1 - DO NOT DO IT.

what is max lovely?

i am on china rom. the phone had no issues for 6 month+ until the auto update occurred.

i cant unlock my phone to self flash therefore i have to wait for XM to release a update that can be downloaded direct to the phone. however even after 1 week and their forums filled with complaints, no fix has been provided. really bad customer service.

talk about trying to take on samsung and apple with a update like this. disgraceful.

i am going to buy a one plus 3T and never trying their products again

Sometimes update can cause problems especially going to major release changes that's why you always backup so in any case you can reset and restore. Funny things happen when you cross flash from developer rom to stable, beta or vice versa. Some would experience radio lost, GPS not working blah blah but it's hardly xiaomi fault as they hv already mentioned full wipe is necessary. Nevertheless, just do a reset as many has updated without issues.
Going to oneplus 3T? See you back soon :D

It will be good if you can do it yourself. You need to unlock the bootloader then use mi flash to flash to global rom.

Are you certain a factory restart will resolve the issues of no gps, one cpu core not working, overheating, and dead battery within 3 hours? Because other forums do not agree.
