Hi, i have onevoice. IDD is free and can be activated easily anytieme. But there is no other VAS available such as forwarding, conference, voicemail, etc.
Thanks for the reply. That is quite sucky then, because the traffic lights ISPs and even the purple ISP provide free digital voice line with option for paid VAS ... while over here need to pay monthly for digital voice at the price the other 4 ISPs charge for VAS, only here there are no VAS except Caller ID.

I hate to say this, but I don't see myself staying with Viewqwest beyond this 2-year contract.

Wasted so much time getting my friends connection up. After Andrew left VQ seems to be manned with more monkeys and not of the good kind.

Anyway i spoke to a support person and he said he will be escalating the case but that was more than 6 hours ago. I'm tired of dealing with VQ's incompetence. Either someone who knows something apart from resetting the router (which i have already done more than 10x) contacts me or this will be the last time i'm referring anyone corporate or individual to VQ.

I'm doing this without compensation from VQ or my friend so i shouldn't have to deal with so much sh1t. Get your act together VQ!

it's been 2 years already lah, let it go bro :)

Just sign up with viewqwest and this error appear

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG

I keep getting this error....how to fix it..
Can connect but no internet connection

EDIT: I entered Google DNS and it work and i randomly search and found this. This is suppose to be the Freedom DNS? I learnt that i get 9 mths free...so this should not be the case right?

Where is that from? :s13:
Are you using your own router + zhone or just the zhone?
If it is just the zhone, try email noc or call technical support...

I believe they were having some DNS issue this morning but should have been fixed.

Hmm I got furious after their technical side ignoring my calls, so I search around and found this site http://vpntest.viewqwest.com/

What is zhone? If you referring to modem..the modem they provide is a small little white one GPON ONT. And yes I am using my own router.I did send an email to the noc to update the mac address though probably 2 days ago..so maybe its this?

My connection is currently working but that is because I went poking around and entered the Google DNS since i got the DNS error. I am just wondering why that is the case..really lost when it comes to these networking stuff :D

BTW for the FREEDOM DNS to work, you must be using the assigned DNS by VQ.

If you using google DNS it wouldn't work FYI.

Erm VQ did not provide me any DNS...

It's automatically assigned to your modem, no need for you to manually input the address

If you get the Freedom DNS error like what you have shown previously, you have to contact the technical support and they will have to configure on their side

Probably the modem was not configured properly on their side?

Make sure everything (router, laptop, mobile phone, etc) is set to automatic for DNS setting

Thanks I checked and all was at the default setting to connect to DNS server automatically...but no connection only until i set it to Google DNS.

Connection down I can understand however what irks me was them disconnecting my calls when i call them up.
Really regret signing up..disappointing :(

Hi onimenokyo,

I did a check and notice that you are having this issue as the Freedom DNS service is yet to be activated.

Can you reboot the modem and remove any DNS hard code to try again.

Internet should be back but the Freedom DNS service i will do a follow up with the relevant department for you tomorrow.

Thanks

Hi JasonTJ

Thanks for the reply! I rebooted the modem and internet is back up :)

However please help to check on the Freedom DNS as it is not activated yet like you mentioned.

Hi,

Signed up viewqwest 1Gbps on the phone few days ago, and Netlink will come by soon.

After browsing so much happenning stuffs, I began to worry on the internet service I will be getting. In particular, 1) uptime 2) unstable ping.

My family does not need the Digital voice, so no issue with that.

You should join them then, I think trained monkeys could do a better job. 100% serious.

I won't insult the support staff as it is clearly no fault of theirs.
Many of them are not trained and are pushed into the ocean to feed the sharks.

Their management prefers to choose a different approach - increasing profitable at the expenses of quality.

The best we can do is to spread the word and move on to other ISP

With all the ISP, i think its either a hit or a miss. I am with starhub with 7 years and so far only 2 times it has given me issue. Other than that, to me the speed is stable and fine. I also have friends with viewqwest who does not have any issues either only during maintenance period. This kind of thing, hard to say. If your luck is not on your side, maybe the location of your fibre, how congested it is, Your PC/Router/Anti-virus/Firewall settings all play a part.

Agreed.

These few days not too many complains in this thread.

But when things really screw up, you can expect this thread to move by leaps and bounds....
