bukit merah:
most units are in telok blangah which, even though quiet, has some amenities (ntuc, dental) and near to mt faber so you get some greenery. pretty close to vivocity if you want more stuff. downside is that the walk to mrt may be long.
other 4rm units are pretty ok, except the 7 units from Depot which is hard to get in or out. This estate has my favourite units (if only i could get it), i.e. that one unit at Havelock which is near to future havelock mrt station and within proximity to tiong bahru station yet far enough to get your own quietness. sadly, not applicable for chinese. Else CityVue units are pretty attractive too.

Queenstown:
most units are from the leftovers of Tanglin Halt SERS. mainly surrounded by HDBs (SkyVille, SkyTerrace and the plot in front is reserved for future development) so you dont get much of a view. some amenities from Dawson Place or the neighbouring HDB clusters. Houses are mostly 83 sqm too, which is really a bummer. And it is not exactly that close to the mrt station
Other units: either at Commonwealth 10; convenient but low level units are left-->roach alert! or at Ghim moh link which is placed in between Buona Vista and Dover with little amenities nearby.

may I know where can I see the projects/flats for the sobf?

From the HDB website I only found general huge areas and not the specific flats.

If you click your way to the May 17 SBF page, there is a button for Flat Details right up top..

Single under 55 can only apply for bukit batok and bukit panjang?

I tried applying for woodlands but it says I'm not eligible.

Hello forumers, I have two questions, please help. Thank you.

a) I have decided on either Town A or Town B (both are non-mature towns).

b) I'm looking to apply for either a 4-room or 3-room flat.

Am I able to submit two applications?

No. One town, one room size.

facing some doubt as i applying for my parents for this SOBF Non mature but aiming to apply under the MCPS(live near child scheme). Anyone can advice:

I selected flat but have not go for sign lease agreement. If my parent apply under MCPS, would it be consider under this scheme? By the time result out, i would have signed the lease though.

From the hdb website,

hdb%20legend.PNG

no quota set aside ... for Single aged below 55

it basically means that single will not be eligible to apply right?

hi again,

also how to we count or calculate how many first timers applying and how many second timers applying ?

example for kallang 4 room - 81 units
applicants - 341
first timer - 3.1
second timer - 26.5
overall - 4.2

can someone please explain to me how they count ??
i only know 341/81 gives yous 4.2
so how do they get the lower percentage for first timers?

Answer is on the first page you see after clicking on Apply Online:

Please note that you can only submit one application under this exercise. If you or any member listed in the application is listed in more than one application, all the applications will be disqualified.

The First Timer figure is derived from 95 percent of flat supply (76 in your eg), while the Second Timer will have just 5 of the units (5 per cent).

By algebra, you get 3.1*76 = 235 first-timer applicants and 26.5*5 = 132 second-timer applicants. These are just rough numbers since HDB does not disclose how many units have they set aside for priority schemes that do not take into account first and second-timer status, and the exact ratio probably has more decimal points.

I think it is safe to assume 20 over units have been set aside for priority schemes in Kallang, and the remaining split in this ratio.

4.2 means for every 1 unit available, there's 4.2 applications submitted for it.

As commented above - take example there are 76 units set aside for 1st-timers, there are at least 4 applicants in the ballot for each unit.

Bro, just to clarify with u..If 76 units is set aside for first timer, u mean 76 units will be choose between the few percent only?
Then remaining 5% units for 90% 2nd timers only?

I really quite blur in this..hahaha..

Means first timer with MCPS scheme sure get good queue number because got two more chances and 2nd timers only fight for the 5% units?

Yes, 76 units will be set aside for the first-timers. The remaining 4 units (5%) will be allocated for 2nd-timers. That is why people always say 2nd-timers have a very slim chance of getting a unit.

Yes, 1st-timers with MCPS stand a good chance but do take note that there's a high probability you're not the only 1st-timer applying under this scheme. If you are not picked after the first round of balloting, you will be assigned a 2nd queue ticket and will be in the ballot with the remaining applicants (this time round without your MCPS priority.)

Thanks Bro, but as u mentioned after first round of balloting will be assigned to 2nd queue tickets..

The 2nd queue tickets is still in the ballot with only first timers or together with the 2nd timers?

Actually i am applying for hougang, looks like it is a tough battle even for first timer with MCPS.

Sigh

hmm, I am not too sure if 2nd queue tickets are mixed with the 2nd timers or not. maybe someone else can help out here?

yeah bro, it's hard for everyone. just submit an application and see how it turns out. :)

Not sure whether the 2nd or 3rd round (if you include other priority scheme like parenthood scheme) includes the 2nd timer but 95% of overall supply is meant for 1st timer.

Just try your luck in this. Never know till you try.
