To be fair, the $699 price in SG for the Switch is plain ridiculous (even with the bundle). The system is only US$299 in America.

Dunno where u get the $699 from. The local bundle with 2 games can be found at $629 even before discount. (With discount, you could get it like $529)

North America US299.9 set does not come with any game. If u factor the 2 USD60 games into the equation, the total adds up to USD420. Its about $596 after local bank conversion. Add in 7% GST and you have to pay $637 if you are importing them yourself.

$637 (no warranty) vs $629 (with 1 yr local warranty). Your choice :s12:

I'm quoting the previous poster's claim that the switch is $699 vs the XB1X. The US price for the console is US$299 and the XB1X is much more expensive based on US price, which I think is a fairer comparison.

And as far as I know, maxsoft's official price for the set is $699 with 2 bundled games and some amiibo. The actual sale price by retailers is lower.

only on pro no biggy

only on pro as in PS4 pro ?

forza motorsport 7 is exclusive to xbox and w10 , my point is that all these games that have native 4k texture will make install size 2 times larger than usual

i wish developers make 4K texture optional as DLC , so us common peasant that only use 1080p can have more space in our drive

Aiya 4k or not doesn't matter, look nice can already. Even gaming pc can't handle 4k 60fps all the time let alone consoles.

like GoW4 FM7 have initial size of 100 GB

all this 4k texture ... :(

Oh. You're referring to Xbox. But Xbox is about using your portable HDD expansion ma.

Anyway, you are one that is definitely not suitable to be a planner. But since you use an Xbox, it makes sense... You need to be forward thinking. These same games might be carried over to the next generation console in the future. If the textures are low, the game will look atrocious in the future.

It's just too much work and a waste of resources for 1080p textures that will never be used again in the future. By having 4K textures by default, they will not need to do double the work of rendering 1080p textures and the 4K texture as a pack because they may need to re-create 4K textures in the future when maybe there's already an 8K console or what not.

Between you and me, I am sick and tired of remasters. Not remake, but remasters, which is taking the original assets and just applying higher resolution textures and charging you for it especially if our old games will go along with us in the future instead and the textures still look fine in the future because they are already 4K.

Ya I would rather they make "4K DLC pack" optional. But for xbox side, unlikely to happen, cos on the x1x it's always going to render in 4k, even if you are playing on 1080p, it will just downscale after that ("supersampling", always 4k texture).

me no xbox , play on pc

problem is SSD price for 500 gb++ still quite expensive . Imagine if the norm is 100Gb for 1 game , 1 drive can only install what 3 / 4 game ?

between destiny 2 , total war warhammer 2 , FM 7 , anthem if all use 4k texture SSD no space liao :o , not to mention other on/off game like Dota2 , CSGO , Diablo 3 etc

please dont tell me to use mechanical drive , after use SSD i really cant get back to HDD anymore :(

Oh PC.. Then you know, I know, we might as well just buy Gears of War 4 and Forza Motorsport 7 on Windows Store ma. Fast to download and install and delete.

My PS4 has a 1TB SSD. Even that to me, is not enough sometimes. :s13:

I am mostly just buying the PC counterpart if they are available to get future updates and even upgrades such as free Skyrim remastered editions as opposed to buying yet another copy of Skyrim for the remasters.

But most PC games that I buy are usually focused on campaigns. If multiplayer, I'll think twice as most of my friends are on the PS4.

supermassive force me to buy vr. :(
I am more interested in Hidden Agenda (their Until Dawn-like game) than Inpatient (the VR game, which nothing much was shown, so nothing much to get interested in). I'm still not forced to buy vr yet :D

Hidden Agenda is non-vr. It is Until Dawn type of game, perhaps not horror but has a detective mystery story. In Until Dawn, if you have friends around, everyone tends to give input on what you should choose. In this game, they can use mobile app to actually give input directly into the game.

Inpatient looks like will be VR only (like the Until Dawn VR on-rail shooter). Not sure what type of story or gameplay it is going to be yet (horror quite certainly but it's looking more Outlast, Soma or any of those insane asylum horror games than Until Dawn). Also not sure if it is going to be a short game like most VR titles or a full scale game (like RE7).

X1X analysis. It's 4k native (the only other game being Forza 7) but doesn't always hit 60fps consistently. It runs on Unity engine, lol, that would explain why even with all the teraflops still cannot be stable 60fps.

It's actually a sequel (or port?) of an oculus rift VR game .

unless you are really doing frame-counting and pixel analysing, it doesn't really matter.....

and seriously, if you are that type of person doing frame by frame counting and pixel analyzing, you would've gotten a highend PC since consoles would have driven you insane...

so i don't really see the difference between PS4 Pro's 'faux 4K' and XBX's 'True 4K'..

seriously, when you are playing a high intensity action game like Call of duty, are you telling me you can tell the difference between checkerboard 4k or native 4k? If you tell me you can, then you are either lying or your name is Clark Kent.
