Apologies.

Am using Linksys EA7500v2 & Singtel Fibre 500MBps+MioTV.
VLAN preset is there, using Singtel (Others), since my land line is connected to ONT.
Able to get connected and MioTV is working fine.
But speed is horrendous, especially youtube. Anyone experiencing the same kind of issue?
Have not tested using IE or Firefox to test youtube, as per other thread.

Sorry to hijack this thread. Regarding Singtel VLan tagging.

1. May I know if I subscribe only to Singtel Fibre Broadband, without IPTV nor IP voice services, do I need to be concerned about VLan tagging?

2. This mean to replace the Singtel router, I do not need to lookout for routers that support VLan tagging, or having a "Singtel IPTV/Voice Profile". Is this assumption correct?

Thanks in advance!

For singtel fibre services, there will be vlan tagging. Therefore when you choose third party router, always choose one that supports vlan..

Hmm... actually I am asking on behave of a friend.

Btw I am not on Singtel, if I look at my Asus LAN setting, there is a Singtel-Others Profile, this can be selected so that port 4 will be set for IPTV STB usage.

My friend only subscribe to Singtel Fibre Broadband, and if die die must set to Singtel-Others profile, then port 4 cannot be used for Internet, right? So wasted 1 LAN port, arh?

hahas. if you don't want to waste a port, then choose manual profile where internet vlan ID can be set, leaving all the 4 lan ports for internet but no singtel tv.

asus designed the firmware in such a way that the lan port can only be used for internet or singtel tv, mutually exclusive..

Haiz, thought if there is no option to choose “Singtel-fibre only” profile could mean no tagging, look like that’s not the case. Most likely need to go carousell to get the official Singtel router. Hunting for a 3rd party router with manual VLan tagging will be too much time consuming, I think.
