Just passed my driving license manual at Ubi in less than 2 months (and I was oversea for more than 2 weeks). Was not easy to find a reliable PDI few months back, so there is the contact info of the one who taught me. He is good and quite flexible so it was easy to have driving lesson (even after work at 7 or 8pm).

Feel free to contact him (Ivan Tan) at +65 9667 6769. He is teaching manual and auto.

Name: Ivan Tan
Contact: +65 9667 6769

Good luck

Is he patient and give good tips?

Hi guys,

Just passed my TP this morning! (First Attempt)

He teaches manual.

If anybody look for PDI around west area can contact my instructor, Raymond.
He's pickup point is as lakeside MRT station there. Rate is 26/hr for non peak, 28/hr for peak.

He have teaching experience of 30years, driving a white mit lancer.
Basically, he's very patient with me and always say "There's no "un-teachable students unless the students itself don't want to learn." He will let you drive around Jurong West area till he feel that you're ready for TP route. Learning from him, you will feel that your on road driving is much better compare to those school learners 1. He got his own ways of teaching and own theory of booking test date. So is either you want or don't want to listen.

One thing to note is that, he can't stand stubborn people that always talk back. He is those responsible type unlike some will fall asleep or don't care about you. If you don't mind him listening to oldies and eating tidbits while teaching, then it should be alright.

There's a one-time registration fee of S$50, and for test day, there's a charge of S$78 for use of his car(26 x 3). He will explain and calculate everything nicely for you. So don't have to worry.

Those who want his contact can PM me. :)
Does he teach auto?

Hi Anyone can recommend a PDI for refersher course in the east? thanz.

Hello, if you don't mind someone who is curt and not the most friendly and lets you be more independent by not hand holding too much, try this guy called Peck Chin Huat at CDC Ubi. He was my instructor almost 10 years ago and I would recommend him to people who aren't sensitive about being yelled at if they do something stupid and like to have more space to learn rather than a PDI who is constantly hand-holding and smothering.

Hi guys, passed my test on the first try with 4 points today!!! Would like to return this good karma by helping to share about my PDI - Mr Jeffrey Kan.

I have previously failed thrice 4 years ago with my old PDI. It was bad till the extent I don't even know why are we even checking blind spots. I would turn my head not knowing the meaning behind it lol.

With Mr Kan, he would patiently explain all the points to take note, constantly reminding you of your bad habits like forgetting to check blindspot etc. Although he can be quite naggy at times because you made mistake, and you would feel like **** because your confidence level keep dropping, but trust me it's all for your own good. During the test, it'll be drilled to your head what to remember etc.

If you're interested, you may PM me for his contact details :)
Does he teach at CDC? Class 3A? Can PM me his number please!

Good CDC PDI

Got my license 2 weeks back. Learnt under Mr Sidik, CDC. Class 3 Manual. He meets me at Eunos MRT for lessons.

Great instructor! He's always polite and respectful, doesn't shout or curse at you (unlike some instructors I've heard about).

He gives you a lot of freedom in the car once you're more or less proficient, so his lessons are more suitable for the more 'independent' people who prefer learning things by themselves.

His method for the circuit test is foolproof. As long as you remember his pointers, you'll breeze through the circuit as long as you can control the clutch well.

One thing that makes him a great choice of instructor, though, is his car. It's less than a year old currently, and handles very well. The clutch pedal is quite forgiving with its biting point, which was a godsend for my dumb left leg.

Only downside is it may be a bit hard to book more than one lesson with him every week if you're in a hurry to get your license. He's also a little on the pricier side, as far as PDIs go, but worth it in my opinion.

PM me if you want his contact!

I contacted Mr Sidik about 2 weeks ago, he's currently tied up, so yeah not taking anymore students unless he changes, just for everyone info. He recommend my another driver but I didn't contact him as review about him is not that great.

Bad experience with PDI

Hi just want to share my horrible experience with a PRIVATE INSTRUCTOR Frank** who pick up at Tai Seng MRT/CDC in his silver toyota axio. Feel so heart pain i wasted $ engaging him for lessons. He never gives full 1.5h lesson except for first lesson. Always end early and worse still, he also will drop off ANYWHERE HE LIKE and give lame excuses at the last min that he need to rush off Also he will go toilet even if he comes late and the best is he will still end early every lesson regardless. It is very difficult to understand him cos his pronunciation is so bad (sounds like he has false teeth).

First lesson he will be on best behavior since he wants you to pay $70 enrolment + fees(54 for 1.5h)...subsequent lessons you will see his other side. Always use phone and eat in the car and he doesn't like you to ask him questions regarding driving lesson plan. He gets SO irritated and will say haiya dont ask me. Just do as i say. Like wth? Keeps making you round the same ulu roads and waste lesson time. When I asked him the difference in parking in circuit vs parking in his ulu carpark he will say no need think so much. Then he wil nag and nag and say like this you will confirm come back to me again after TP(Mindvoice: Like hell I will come back to you)

He super ex you must pay 400+ for TP !!!!!!!!!! He think he driving BMW isit?

What a rip-off! You will be better off learning at the school. He say he driving from early morning so tired. Like srsly? who asked you to take more students if you cant cope. He is so old still want to make a fast buck. Though driving school lesson is slightly more ex but at least the tp is wayyy cheaper so even if take on 2nd try not much heart pain. Imagine taking Frank** and paying 800+ for 2nd attempt in case you screw up your 1st attempt :O
