I'm gonna change my current S8+ phone to either Huawei Mate 10 Pro or LG V30.

Can't wait... 😍

I'm still holding my mint condition gold P9 from April 2016 - best phone I've ever had; still fast and takes great photos....but, well, must change to smaller bezels, faster processor and better "AI" camera, right?
Headed off to Hillion on the - free today and tomorrow - DT line and they have a black one on display. I was quite disappointed on two counts.

1) The change from metal to 'glass' (looks and feels more like perspex to me) makes the phone look cheap and mid-range. When you also have the x-factor cool feeling (in an aircon shop anyway) metal back from such as P9, handling the Mate 10 just feels less.......good.
2) The fingerprint sensor on the front looks like a step into the past and very Samsung-like. A bit ridged and also doesn't seem to have the multi-functions of the rear sensor that Hauwei's old series have (pulling down notification bar for example)

Yup, I know both subjective points, but for me, the 10 Pro better deliver, or else, my trusty P9 will go into two-year phone uncharted territory :s22:

although hw are known for lack of updating.

Mate 10 Pro looks more beautiful. Huawei should keep the microsd slot and audio jack on the pro..

Hmmm, I'm deciding between Mate 9, P10+ and Mate 10... My only need is good camera and battery life~ Don't really care about other specs...

I personally think that I prefer home button/ front fingerprint sensor because I have been using Note series and is so used to that... Haven't used one with back sensor yet... But I am thinking that doesn't that make it inconvenient for me to unlock when the phone is on table? But I realised that many people like the sensor to be at the back though... Just wondering, whats the reason? Isn't is difficult to unlock when it is on the table?

Tempted to get Mate 9 since it is cheaper now... Any advices guys?

i used to prefer the home button at the front but ever since using the mate 9, it has made me prefer it at the back due to convenience while holding the phone. it's more natural to use your un-used index to tap the sensor behind since it's free rather than shift your thumb to the front sensor if it's on the screen above.

if it's on the table, i just use the pin. it's not that troublesome for me. you could get the Mate 9 if don't want to spend 300+ more for the Mate 10.

I used to like back fingerprint sensor until I used p10 with front home/sensor with gestures control so I'm sold on front sensor. I just hope the mate 10 will have the home button gestures that makes having the other 2 buttons redundant! It's 2017 already so we need something new

Yes, back sensor is nice in the pants but when your phone is on the table, front sensor is still king

I had a grey P9 that I used for almost a year and it was a great phone. Took some of my best vacation photos with it and it was fast and smooth till the day I sold it. Kinda regret selling haha

Today on MRT saw a guy holding a huawei phone, from back I can tell it's Mate 10, then I looked again, there is no button on front panel and there is a circle sensor at back. It's Mate 10 Pro. Wondering how he got it.

maumu is right. head down to your nearest best. i think they shud already have demo set.

i didnt get to play much with it as when im holding it, it just left like 5% battery.

first impression
1. The glass back is very sticky with alot of fingerprint
2. its very warm. and when the phone off by itself due to battery depleted..the on button is very hot
3. UI is sluggish and laggy. just pull up for apps and its like stuttering
4. camera didnt have the object recognition icon. probably need some setting. camera movement is kinda laggy too

probably drop by again 2moro to do some in depth molest :s22:

I went to Suntec Harvey Norman to try today.
1. Yes that's true, has a lot of fingerprint cos it's glass back. To be expected.
2. The set I played with wasn't warm.
3. UI was also ok for that set that I tested. No stuttering at all
4. Cam definitely had object recognition icon. I tested it with some Huawei brochures nearby, when I put it over the text the T icon came up, when I put the cam over a couple of faces the Portrait icon showed up. And the set wasn't connected to any internet so it's definitely AI built in.
