Hi all, thinking to get a new rig with the new ryzen. Anyone can recommend me? Going for an itx build. Only watch movies and play dota 2. Sometimes do alittle bit of Photoshop. Case I have decided on the fractal design nano s.

No need power supply, SSD and GPU. Thought of reusing my zotac 750ti. Haha or what would u guys recommend?

Many thanks!

What's your current rig specs ? With ddr4 prices artificially inflated, not sure it's a good time for upgrade unless absolutely necessary.

Haha actually my current enough for my needs.
Case: Fractal design node 304
Mobo: MSI H87I AC ITX
CPU : I5 I forgot what variant
RAM: 8GB Gskill ripjaw
GPU: Zotac 750ti
PSU: 500W seasonic 80+bronze

I wanted to change the casing only actually cos the casing abit too short for me to put on the floor. I recently shifted to a new place. And also I broke the USB3 pins on the mobo so I thought if I were to change the casing, I might as well try for a Ryzen build. But since it's discouraged to do so at the time being I might just hold back first or what do you think?

Honestly it’s a bit of gamble, who knows when the prices might go down, or if prices will maintain or even increase? Anyone can predict but no one can guarantee you..

But then with your usage, don’t think it warrants an upgrade.

I also felt there's no need for an upgrade. I'm just alittle annoyed that I can't use the USB3. Haha! I will probably just change the case and wait till this rig up lorry or cannot support my needs. Thanks for the advices.

Are you constantly connecting to a usb drive or HDD and transfer data? If not den it's doesn't matter since most HDD/pen drive dun achieve max usb3.0

If that's the case, just buy a USB 3.0/3.1 add on card.

Have you consider to repair the damaged USB3 pins instead.
The pcie slot is used or blocked.
For i5 variant is stated in BIOS.

late comment that's probably not conducive but just my opinion. Given your current build and reqs(750ti is MORE than enough for light gaming like DOTA 2 or well, youtubing), I see zero reason why you'd even want to upgrade. My 5yo Acer V7 i7 laptop can handle multiple chrome windows with bout 20+ tabs open at once without lagging and play youtube at the same time, i see no reason why your com cant handle the same

Usually ppl upgrade to game at a 'higher' level or work purposes like rendering and photo editing etc. which their old rigs couldnt handle.

If atm you cant think of anything that your old com cant handle well, dont upgrade. Now is pretty much the worse time to build a PC. DDR4 RAM prices are inflated, GPU prices are inflated as hell, CPU(inc Ryzen) are also slightly inflated. Wait out the cryptomining craze, watch 1060s and 1070s drop in price(hopefully? lol wishful thinking but :s22:) and be a happy buyer.
