Left home 1110hrs with 100%, playing pokemon go 60% and listening to Spotify on my AirPods 40% and the rest on standby and forums, now at 1530hrs left 50%. Screen on time throughout around 50%.

So means, 4.5 hours and 50% gone? That’s not bad considering 8-9hours of usage time if you continue to use.

You expecting Plus kind of battery life?

Was expecting to be on par though. Since it's a smaller device so have to accept it.

For Contacts, you up-sync your contacts to iCloud Contacts (http://apple.co/2zcPUVH). So when you log into your iCloud account after wiping your phone, your contacts will sync down.

For Whatsapp messages, you can back them up to iCloud too (http://bit.ly/2zbGZE1), provided you have enough storage space.

To clean install iOS11.1, first download the correct .ipsw file for your phone. Then connect your phone to iTunes and follow the steps - http://bit.ly/2zfbadH

After the installation is complete, set up your phone as a new device, log back into your iCloud account and download your apps again from the App Store.

Warning: this procedure will erase the contents of your phone and install a fresh copy of iOS. So back up any files, photos, music, movies, etc. before doing this. It's a pain the arse, but you only need to do this once, until iOS 12 comes out.

basically is to do a back up on pc, clean install, set up as new device, and then restore back up ya?

7 Plus user here.

Took the plunge to try 11.1. So far so good. Battery is better than 11.0.2 for me.

Yes to the first three steps. Only back up your files, photos, music, videos, etc.

For myself, I've never restored anything. My settings are all new, i.e. Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth pairing, etc.

My files are backed up into Dropbox. So if I need anything, I download them from Dropbox to my phone. I have never used iTunes for back ups.
