We tend to forget that we normally associate Apple with Marketing , for the past few years not so much on Innovation anymore. Any media hype be it bad news or good news ... ultimately is good for Apple.

I can totally understand that feeling. A new iPhone works like an older iPhone, not really much difference. U still call and text using same apps. So you unlock using face instead of finger, but is this really so important? Like Tim Cook says every year, so every iPhone is a GREAT device. But the big reason to upgrade is ONLY because every year, the new iOS made your old iPhone slower, and you miss that speed and zero-lag that you had before so much that you will want to buy a new one again.

Nope, the new OS doesn't make old iphone slower. It's parts degradation that cost the phone to slow down.

hmm not really every app, i got an app stop working after switch to iphone x. I know the developer stop updating the app since ios8, it still works fine with my iphone 7plus but with lower resolution. After switch to X, the phone doesn't allow me to run the app anymore and instead i have two options to delete or keep it.

Yep like what Yachtmaster said, didn't really see much of a difference from my current I6+ except for the form factor also the "wow" factor of a new phone. And my hands are big so the X is alittle small for me after carrying the "bulky" I6+

PS Apple new IOS doesnt technically make old iphones slower but every app requires more resource to load hence it slows down the phone. It's the same like Apple doesn't technically make you poorer directly but rather draws more money from you if you want to latest iphone.

agree. iphone can last at most two major ios upgrade, beyond tt, it'll make ur device feels slow

its like pc hardware, two same specs pc, install with windows 7 and another with windows 10
or maybe installing games tt are a few versions apart and run on the system, u will feel the lag

when the app is not upgraded for latest OS, it disappears from your phone.

for what it's worth my 2yr old 6s after updating to iOS 11 still performed e same. only battery life was bad. duno where u get that 1-5s longer thing from
