To open TP Port 2 depend on your location.
Some may take about 2 months or more.
So it is advicable to do it early.
Minumum period is 2 weeks to get NetLink Trust appt.

Another separate appts by ISP;
1) ISP installer if required
2) ISP technician to setup ONT & Router, and activation, ensure the connection speed is your plan, etc.

In other word, TP 2nd port is depend as if your location do have many opt for 2 ISP.

Whereas ISP part do not have any issue.

since my existing contract around next June, so intend to sign up during the IT show next march, hopefully within 3 months can settle everything. But the NLT appt u were saying, will SH arrange for me? Or do I have to do it myself?

ISP will make the arrangement with NetLink Trust (NLT).
NLT usually deal with ISP, not consumer.

Used to be true for cable internet as the "limited" connection is shared through the same cable. Fiber has enough bandwidth that is unlikely to be overloaded.

Can you tell me how do you speed test a website? If a site is originally slow, which ISP you use will not make any different at all.

Try to do a ping test for varies period ... peak, non peak, day, night, sleeping, etc.
More on routing via international connection as some ISP may use different direction.

As it look like news website.


Currently my fibre network &or laptops are unable to use.

Using cable broadband wifi with phone look reasonably good n fast, including translating to English.

Here is my tracert below using direct wire connect .. the time delay quite long. Its quite ok if connect from inside of China. Bcs recent ISP have to be go through from HK then go into china.They tell me its the best way they have and also say wireless sg faster than mine when they do testing internally.....
