Logitech Harmony is a good option if you DIY everything.....

I do have the Harmony universal remote as well, but because all command have to go through the logitech cloud than communicate with my insteon cloud before the action is executed so there is some time lag.....

If you use the remote purely for equipment control, it quite responsive..... But if you create an activity to switch on the TV and change your lighting scene, you will still achieve the end result, but lag.

Not sure about your experience, but that is what i notice....

no need crestron ba. logitech harmony will do.

neutral wiring, there's a way to do it without having to rewire whole house.

I personally will still go with Harmony over RM Pro cos both devices have reliance on their company's respective clouds.
My confidence in China products are low as their cloud might go offline anytime. With harmony, Logitech should have better responsibility towards her customers.

when you are connected to the same local network, the delay is not so much noticeable.

do check out logitech smart keyboard for the hub for anyone with htpc in living room, consoles and boxes.

I agree with you.....

Price wise no doubt the china brands are very cheap..... But imagine when u need the system to perform at the critical moment it fails you.....

true. atm protocols are preset, no way to customize it.

the delay is abt 500ms plus minus

usually much less

I use it with Stringify, but it doesnt seem to be very reliable.....

huh? logitech is cloud based when you connect to it remotely.

i don't see your problem totally. can you describe what is slow at a granular level?

erm, i also hv lightings to control, including aircon.


whereas whether or not internet affects locally, i can't ans that as of now. perhaps some of your lightings require internet connection?

My Bose theatre system is running on RF..... So i think there shouldnt be any issue....

thanks for the reply. thats why im confused when people tell me it can control RF devices (433mhz)
i couldnt find any information on RF.
