Hey Guys, finally after a very lonnnngggg wait for coffee lake H series motherboard launch, it’s time for me to build up new rig.

Is this specs good to go? Price using fuwell’s list and haven’t add in casing.

Mainly for light gaming then will save up to get GTX1080 in future.

Please advise

Asus ROG Strix H370-I Gaming 3.0Ghz - $547.00
Samsung 860 EVO M.2 - 500GB - $239.00
Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666MHz CL16 - $289.00
CMaster V750 750W 80+ Gold - $169.00

Thinking of getting all parts and casing at one go than getting part by part. Or which shop have better price?

Because everyone have different preferences in things. Don't You?

For technology not really. If a thing is good I buy regardless of brand. Tech is tech. The person it serves is you. If you discriminate by brand you may not get the best.

A bit different from clothing, watch, car etc. where appearances can justifiably matter to some.

I am building with AMD but still incomplete.

Not sure for your use case what is suitable. Just wondering why you dismiss a tech because of brand.

Since you want to buy GPU then can consider Coffee lake or future Ryzen 2. If you are happy with light to medium gaming only and do not care for GPU then you can consider Raven Ridge APU and save money.

You are building AMD but not Intel? Are you discriminating intel then?

I am not a hardcore gamer and rather no much time for game.

I will slowly invest in GTX1080 follow by VR gear

Seems you do not understand the meaning of the word 'discriminate' as I have put it.

Anyway, you are free to buy according to your preference.

It is more like the choice of your word. Read post 11

What type of light gaming are you looking at? Minesweeper level? Since you said you are saving for 1080, you have a plan for gpu?

Cause seriously, Intel's graphics is....well it only allows you game at minesweeper/solitare level. Exaggerated but you get my point.

Also what cpu are you going for? i3, i5 or i7?

CS Go for now. And if possible, L4D2. My current comp, Intel Core Dual 2 with Nvidia Geforce 9600GT still able to play CS Go.

But as of now, I only use it to watch show and read documents

I am getting i5-8500

wa antique sia. Not that i can judge you for it, im still running a NAS on my 11(?) year old q8400.

Since you getting a locked i5, u wanna look at the b360 motherboards as a cheaper alternative?

coz if your priority is on pricing, the rog strix is a really expensive esp when there are other less pricey alternatives.

According to google dictionary, discriminate means:

1. "recognize a distinction; differentiate." or...
2. "make an unjust or prejudicial distinction..." (part).

You are now attempting to say that you are merely expressing a 'preference', that you believe that there is no difference between Intel and AMD, and that I have used definition 1 - which is merely to distinguish without prejudice.

But actually I have used definition 2 and this should be clear because my comment (no. 4) was because you responded to bro Rashkae (post no. 2) by saying you are not into AMD. Bro Rashkae was giving you the option that is technically stronger.

You did not give a reason why you are not into AMD so I have to assume you are brand prejudiced. I believe my choice of word is correct in context of posts 2 and 3. Hope that is clear.

Sooooo...you planning to reuse your 9600GT on your new com? Cause i5-8500 ain't gonna cut it in the graphics department. Maybe 720p low-mid?

AMD Ryzen apu is actually targeted at groups of people like you - a cheap gaming chip with decent graphics while waiting/saving up for a new gpu.

Of course, if you feel like investing in a card for those games which is cheap, you can opt for gt1030 tonpair with your 8500.
