My 216d creaks a lot too. Quite annoying and totally not what I expected of BMW's build quality.

So, the creaking applies to both 1 and 2 series diesel.
The 3 series creaks a little too; the 5 series does not.

BMW does not want its quality of silence to be replicated in all its series.

add in the ves, all the saving is out of the window unless you drive more then 220k in 10 years.

Simplify it. Treat it as part of the upfront car price just like the ARF and what nots when we buy new car.

Otherwise, get pre owned. First owner absorbed already

:( Maybe the new 5-series does too. Give it some time. Mine took about a year before those creaks started appearing. Now it's more noticeable than on my 3-year old Volvo S80.

So far, no sound coming from a less than 2-year-old 5 Series.
The sounds from 1 series became audible right from start.

The solution is simple: put adhesives in the doors, but this may require dismantling the doors. This tricky solution may also end up giving more problems.

You mean applying friction tape at the door? Yah seems to fix the creaking sound issue and there's no need to remove door etc to apply.

is SPC diesel bad for a car.

Hi i am new to HWZ and just bought a Infiniti Q30 Diesel.
As i normally put SPC petrol, would like to continue using SPC Diesel as it has the best CC discount for me.

Have been hearing news that SPC diesel is really bad and some Engines have been affected because of this. Would like to know if this is true..

Thanks!

Of course, it is not true, at least for diesel sold in Singapore.

But if the news, known as “superstitions”, affects you, then SHELL diesel may be the better option.

I am new to Diesel car, going to collect my car soon,as occasionally i will need to drive to Malaysia with 500KM distance on a single trip , very likely will need to top up on the return route.

So far any bad experience on Malaysia Euro 5 Diesel ? which brand gives best stability in term of maintaining car power.

Lower car power is an indicator of car ECU takes protection to lower car power due to bad fuel . This is very true for Petrol car .

Swing from relatively high consumption 2.5L Tubro charged Petrol car, definitely fuel cost is not a big concern but fuel quality for the car performance and car health is important to me.

Just make sure u don't take the black color pump. That one is Euro 2. There's no way black can be Euro 5.

Yes there is a 5%/8% rebates using Maybank Family card for pumping Smart Energy Diesel. Still checking on Citibank cash back card :)

How did that work? I thought smart uses their own card. We merely uses our cc to top up that card?
