Is the note 5 pro better than A1? .

Hardware maybe but not sure about the camera difference and quality.

Software depends u. Since both using slightly different OS. A1 pure android. Note 5 with MiUI skin.

So the comparison is the hardware.

Can any kind owners of Redmi Note 5 (China ROM) please confirm:

1. Does Google Assistant work. Can you please do simple tests asking "Okay Google, what time is it?", "What is the temperature now?". Does it respond with a voice output?

2. I am currently using Redmi 5 Plus and the manual mode of the camera offers only two options, i.e. White balance and ISO setting. How about Redmi Note 5 camera? Does it have more manual control options, e.g. exposure time?

Currently the international Rom is filled with plenty of bugs. Not really wise to use it yet. Will still need a few more months before they iron out the issues as they need more users on it. Majority of users are on China Rom and India Rom currently.

Also, production issue seems quite severe. Only Q3 maybe there will be ready stocks for global version.
i see

in the meantime, could i uninstall the bloatware on my rmn5 china set?

will it affect the phone's operations?

The reason I'm asking is if sellers will load China ROM onto prata set and pass it off as China set. Just a thought

india set uses micro USB C, china set uses micro USB B right?

you can see the difference in a split second

also the support for QC3.0 can't be faked.

There really isn't much bloatware on the phone. You can uninstall majority of it. Only one is Sogu Keyboard, but just install Google keyboard and it be fine.

Nope. You can use all Google stuff normally except for Android Pay as that requires rooting to solve the validation.
You just need to head to MIUI forums to download the Google apk.

China Rom simply meant that the Rom is more accustomed for the China market like the integration of Sogu Keyboard by default. However, you can still install any Google products like Gmail, Google Playstore without any issues except for Android Pay(though Note 5 has no NFC).

International Rom on the other hand has Google Applications installed by default as it caters to the international market.

Yes need to unlock BL. After applying for BL unlock, gotta wait for 15 days before u can actually unlock it and flash Global rom on it. No root needed.

thanks. i'll apply for bootloader unlock now.

so i can simply flash using the system firmware updater app?

btw will flashign to global rom unlock the added b20 band? or is that a hardware issue?

also can i relock the bootloader back after i'm done flashign to global?

Edit: oh the unlock permission is tied to your mi account. i apparently had permission from ages ago, but it sort of expired. now have to reapply

Need to use fastboot(for my Redmi 5 Plus) to flash rom of diff region Eg China to Global.

For my Redmi 5 Plus case, cannot lock back the bootloader, if not will kena bootloop.

Not too sure the LTE band part.
