For those enquring about unlock:
yes there are 2 steps
1) Applying for permission (around 3hrs wait). Just once per account will do
2) After you get your phone you need to wait 360 hours (from first attempt at unlocking i think). They did this to prevent vendors or sth from flashing (no idea jsut guessing)

Workaround (was working when I unlocked last night):

Basically to do so, you need 2 accounts with unlock permission. Log in to phone with first account and go fastboot, log in to unlock tool with first account and try. If cannot work, log in to account 2 on the phone and DO NOT click anything, jsut go to fastboot. Then log in to second account on unlock tool, and unlock. It worked for me yesterday

I just ordered the 32gb version from newstar for $300 - $42 shop coupon - $50 coupon - $4 qpoints -$4 gc discounts = $200

wanted the 64gb but paying $70 more for 32gb more space is too much. At least open camera app supports recording directly to external sd card

Yup. If you use custom rom, system uses 1.3GB so 3GB is enough. miui on the other hand...

The basic lineage oreo first. Ideally I want a rom with built in privacy guard. It has option to prevent auto app startup on boot, prevent keep awake and prevent run in background. I get really good standby time on my mi max with privacy guard.

sorry i csnt find newstar on qoo10, only Union. is there new star?\

<edit> apologies, I saw, it seems is 5 plus, not the snapdragon 636... means the redmi 5 pro is only 4-64 variant
