Can consider the Hair Restoration Program by Radium Medical. I tried the program and I am surprised that I saw hair regrowth after about 5 sessions of laser and PDRN treatment.

Topical is good too but you need to apply every day and it may not guarantee hair growth. I tried it myself for a few years. Just prevented hair from dropping.

Laser is also not perm, also need frequent maintenance.

Ya, only through referral you will get subsidy. Each consultation is $30+ but you can opt for follow up once a year and get 1 year worth of medication or subscription.

Y can't polyclinic prescribe u finasteride str away since it's a straightfoward MPB case? Any1 know how much does 1mg finasteride cost in polyclinic?

Wow!!! quite a number of hairloss expert here. maybe can start a hairloss club for man. hehe.

rECKleSSfElla gave a lot of good advice. just to add on a few.

1) Propecia (finasteride 1mg)

get proscar to save cost. you can cut it into 5parts. proscar is the same drug as propecia but come in 5mg version. so divide it into 5parts give you the same dosage as propecia yet you can save a lot of money.

early dosage test show that 0.2mg work almost as well as 1mg. 1mg reduce only 7.3% more DHT on scalp. so if you want to try it out, 0.5mg might be a good start. it take about 1year to know whether your treatment is working. do it at your own risk.

2) Minoxidil.

the cheapest 5percent version i found in singapore is minoxi5. it cost $57.75 for 80ml.

2% version work about 77percent as well 5% version in long term. it take longer to show it effect so be patient.

3) Shampoo

get a good anti-inflammation shampoo. inflammation of the scalp could increase your hairloss. you can try shampoo like nizoral 1percent or 2percent. use it 3times per week. it cost about $21 for 100ml and using it at this rate can last you very long. some study have found that nizoral 1percent and 2percent reduce hairloss like minoxidil 2%.
other shampoo that proven to help reduce inflammation contain coal tar, salicylic acid, head and shoulder etc.

no single treatment work well by itself unless you are the lucky one. start with proven treatment and if it does not help, add other treatment that is not proven. not proven does not mean it does not work. just that it is not tested and appove by FDA. so do some research and you might be lucky. your best bet is to start with a combo of propecia, minoxidil and nizoral.

just take things easy and don't be too bother by hair loss.

what i read about biolyn is that most likely it is another snake oil. certain users review have been bad and they refuse to disclose the active components of the product. no test have been done on the product to prove that it work. therefore, give this product a miss.
tried all of that, incl xo and martell and garlic tonic. in the end still bo bian go do hair transplant. LOL

Tried many different types of shampoos but the issue remains.

Consider the above as the top of my head. The straight line represents my hair parting (abit "empty" also along the parting line anyway)

The area circled in yellow is where the issue is. I actually tried to look at my hair after I bathe and I see the hair strands are not quite dense.

Then lately I also realized that my hair becomes very oily whenever there is a sun

Details

Regenepure DR is a doctor recommended shampoo that contains strong, restorative ingredients that have been carefully researched and selected for curbing hair loss. Pairing with intensive ingredients such as saw palmetto extract, emu oil, caffeine and vitamin B6, will help add moisture, shine, volume, and suppleness to thin and lifeless hair. If you have color or keratin-treated hair, you can also use this shampoo, as it is completely free of all sulfates, parabens, DEA, and harsh chemicals.

How DHT Causes Hair Loss

Regenepure DR is a anti hair fall shampoo that is sulphate and parabens free. It can be used by both men and women to help reduce hair fall and only uses premium-grade ingredients that have been clinically proven to reduce hair fall in men and women. The rich formula will help nourish and revitalize your hair and scalp and help minimize the effects of androgen DHT. DHT attaches itself to hair follicle receptors and causes them to degrade, resulting in a process known as miniaturization. In other words, hairs continue to grow thinner and weaker until they stop growing altogether.

How Regenepure DR helps with Hair Fall

Fortunately, Regenepure DR contains many anti-hair Fall ingredients, ingredients that can possibly minimize effects of DHT. By preventing the enzyme known as 5 alpha reductase from converting testosterone into DHT, hair fall is prevented. Furthermore, Regenepure DR also contains Saw Palmetto Extract, which removes any toxins on the scalp and also nourishes hairs from the root to the tip. Another benefit of the Regenepure DR shampoo is that it helps with scalp itching and flakes and helps add hair lustre, volume, shine, and moisturize, thanks to the Jojoba and Emu oils that are contained in the hair loss shampoo.

RegenePure® DR Ingredients

Serenoa Serrulata (Saw Palmetto) Extract – Used for its medicinal properties for centuries and other potentially beneficial effects.

Emu Oil – Full of healthy omega oils that moisturize deeply and rejuvenating the skin. A recent *Boston University study found that emu oil "remarkably" increased the thickness of the scalp skin, and awakened dormant hair follicles.

Niacin Vitamin B3 – Promotes healthy scalp circulation, and is one of the top nutritional supplements recommended for the prevention of hair loss.

Caffeine – Helps to stimulate the scalp, and is easily absorbed by the skin. Studies have shown that it can control the effect of testosterone on the scalp, significantly increasing life cycle of hair.

Pyridoxine HCL (Vitamin B6) – Shown to help inhibit the conversion of testosterone to DHT in the skin.

Aloe – Widely known for its amazing ability condition the skin, keep scalp properly moisturized and balanced while providing a health environment for hair growth.

Vitamin C – An important antioxidant that helps to stimulate the capillaries that carry blood to the hair follicles, and minimizes free radical damage.

Ketoconazole – Makes hair look and feel thicker. Cleanses the hair and scalp, makes hair look and feel thicker, and other potentially beneficial effects.

Simmondsia Chinesis (Jojoba) Seed Oil – Chemically similar to the natural oils of the scalp, jojoba helps to replace essential oils that shampoo cleansers typically remove.

Zinc Oxide – Protects the scalp, and has been clinically shown to help block the formation of DHT in the skin.

Ytd ask someone to take picture of the top of my head...

Seems like 地中海 forming ?

Back and both sides ok but not the entire top, with the area circled (closer to forehead) more jialat. Grab a handful of hair, can see the scalp clearly.

Maybe I should keep my hair short so that it is not so obvious...

I wonder whether the "natural" DHT blocker such as Saw Palmetto, etc. is useful against baldness, since minoxidil and finasteride are a bit uncomfortable and not easy to get ?

Btw, is genetic / heredity baldness = baldness due to DHT ? I am a bit confused ?

Many thanks :)
