Saw a notification briefly yesterday stating '9.5.6 Update, 1.1GB Stable, Security patch and bug fix'. Put on hold because was working. But later on couldn't get back the update. System update is not available. ????

It is likely a beta Stable that has been rolled out to random users to test before they release it to all devices. Typically in this case, if you get a notification on an update but you put it on hold and do not update immediately, it will no longer be there when you go back until the final update rolls out after it is confirmed that there are no bugs. Recently they have been doing this for all devices.

Just updated 2 days ago only. It's only a 56 mb bugs fix and security update. No different in terms of performance and stability and battery life.

Just noticed that phone bulges at the volume button. Is it still safe to use? Worth it to fix or just get a new one?

Battery replacement is really cheap, under 20 dollars if u DIY. Super easy. But it's also weird cause the battery placement is approx under fingerprint scanner and should be no where near the volume button. But if u say back cover buldge then it would make more sense.

i bought this pretty cheap:
https://ezbuy.sg/product/buyforme.h...em.htm?_ezgpid=20000003532939&id=529597639300

https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?s...97639300&ns=1&abbucket=13&skuId=3155667813686

will link taobao link later. just rmb connect fingerprint scanner to the back cover or else phone wont boot. super easy to repair.
1)use a card or prytool to pry the back cover off
2) unplug battery connector and remove the old battery (got some double sided tape)
3) put in new battery

I have a RNM3 SE (Kate) running 9.5.7, works fine, no major issues to speak of.

Not sure what's the build number for the latest update for Kenzo though so I cannot comment.

1) Don't really think so. As in hor, it will be (non - tmall i.e official stores) selling the battery. They can claim its original but you won't really know cause it's just a sticker.
(If u die die want official original battery best is go back Clark quay and repair , I think with diagnosis fee etc would be around 50 SGD) my friend just changed the mi Max battery from them not that expensive , around that price iirc.
Xiaomi taobao official store don't sell parts for their phone.

2) regarding side buldge I really can't tell you what is the problem / cause. You need to personally open it up to take a look. (If it's because of the battery the only reason I can think of is that it has caused the metal back to deform due to the buldge and because of that creates a gap at the side. (Btw you can also buy a new back cover with buttons for I think less than 20 SGD from taobao, just make sure correct model as got people say the Kate kenzo got different length etc. (Super confusing , I know)

Thanks for the detailed info. I have bought a new back cover from Lazada already. My phone is export set don't think service centre will replace battery and not worth the price haha. Think will just select the best seller in taobao for the bm46 batt.

Generally just try to look for tmall shops and large quantity of sales. Price wise all damn similar

Hi recently my 1.5yr old redmi note 3 SE has been experiencing slow charging, so slow that i reformatted/tried various cables but no use. At first after reformatting it would still charge normally but next day same thing would occur. Does anyone have any ideas? I am thinking of bringing to service center. What are the possible charges?
