Sideload apps = asking for trouble and compromising your device security. and/or you are just a pirate.

You think Android isn't at fault with regional stuff too? My man. You got to open your eyes.

YouTube TV is not available to SG.
Pokemon GO was not available to SG at the starting few months. But now it is almost global
HBO Now not available...

But hey I bet you don't care, unlikely that you will use these services.

why is side load asking for trouble?

haha, sideload = pirate? that's sterotyping aye! hehe
android is opensource so devs can build apps and share without needing to go thru the play store.
and, security wise.. i think this topic is "subjective". if you know what you're dealing with.. that won't be an issue..
hey iOS have its fair share of "compromises" too eh?

regional issue with android is way easier to circumvent than iOS.
I've been using android since HTC hero so I think my eyes are wide opened.

I dun use YouTube TV
I dun play POGO
but i used to use HBO GO. on the iPad actually.

I actually have 2 iPads and a couple of apple account of different regions just to install apps that are region specific.

I'm not trying to say which is better here. I'm not neutral also.
I prefer android because, i can actually have "control" of the device I bought.

Cause there is no way to ensure that the sideloaded APK is truly genuine unless you personally crossed check the apk MD5 against ones that are actually uploaded to the Play store or provided by the developer.

The sideloaded APK might have been modified to include malware or other scripts not intended by the developer and you freely installing and running it opens your device to attack and having your data read.

iOS devs can also build and install apps without going through the app store as well. Cause I wrote a few. You just need the right tools to ensure it's legitimacy and signed properly

yes, but sharing and installing is a hassle ..
testflight? .. 10k limits

ah well, i'm not hammering iOS fwiw. Stuffs in the mac garden are generally more polish than the green camp.

guys, so if I buy from qoo10 preinstalled with Play Store, I can just download app and use right?

Not a fussy user, so long my kids can use youtube, surf internet, play games like minecraft, Roblux etc. Just concern that some of these common apps are unavailable.

So long its just plug and play.

Can, but not all apps are compatible with China rom like Netflix. Might have to sideload the app if you can't find it on the play store.

Not just MIflash to Global ROM? I didn't know changing from China to Global ROM need to unlock bootloader.

Don't think there will be a global ROM for this model. Mipad3 also don't have.

oh btw... ive been more or less keeping track of the prices in Qoo10 and it seems that its coming down... I wonder why? Release of the plus version or release of the LTE version?
Or maybe global version coming so they getting rid of the existing stocks?
