"We talk about footballers and managers, not every player is going to get along with their manager and the manager is not going to like every player," Keane told Notts TV.

"But what you do as a footballer, and whatever disagreements I've had with one or two managers, when you cross that line, you play for the team."

"I don't care what fallout you've had with your manager, I don't care if you've been at each others' throats, because that is part of the industry, people do fall out, it happens in other industries. Unfortunately when you're at Man United, one of the biggest clubs in the world, things will get exaggerated."

"But if you're a footballer for Man United and you put that jersey on and walk out and don't give 100 percent because you might be upset with somebody, then good luck to Mourinho in this job."

The 47-year-old added: "Players who get upset with the manager or coaching staff and think 'I'm not going to train properly because somebody upset me'... there's a lot of cry babies out there."

"When you walk out on that pitch, you're playing for your pride, your're playing for your family, your city, whatever it might be. Don't get that worried about what the manager's said about you or the coaching staff."

"You can fall out after the match, but when the game's going on liven up, play with pride, play with energy, play with spirit and hopefully play with a bit of skill. You can't always play with the skill, you can have a bad day, but on your bad days you roll your sleeves up and you fight for that jersey and don't get distracted by the balloons out there."

So sad that we yet to see the current United players play for the badge/club.

SAF says Stam needs to go, Stam gone. SAF says Keane needs to go, Keane gone. SAF says RvN needs to go, RvN gone. SAF says Beckham needs to go, Beck gone. During SAF, we broke the British transfer records 6 times (Robson, Keane, Cole, RvN, Veron, Ferdinand). Teddy was 31 when he joined us, Barthez 29, Edwin VdS 34, RvP 29, none complained them too old. Note Keane, RvN, Veron were all transfer records when we signed them and they are just gone like that when SAF says times up.

JM says AM can go, Ed says no. JM says Pog can go, Ed says no. JM says Darmian, Rojo can go, Ed says not cheaply. During JM time, we broke the record once - Pogba. JM wants to sign 29 old players, Ed says too old.

So essentially, not saying JM is right all the time, but Ed is meddling most of the times. Whereas in SAF era, no one is meddling with his decisions. That's why I said, we get in another 10 managers we will not see much difference.

Actually this makes alot of sense to me.

But, I am doubtful on Mou decision in regards to when a player's time is up. The proof is in the pudding with his past treatment of players, de Bruyne and Salah most notably. Maybe that is why Ed is not trusting of Mou's decision.

But for Mou to give up on players after 1-2 season is also ridiculous lah. Compared to SAF, he tolerated Becks lavish lifestyle off the pitch for longgggggg time, until he had enough. Thank god there was no social media back then, if not kena like Pogba.

The current situation now though is players dont want to play for both manager and club, or is just the stupid park the bus tactic that everyone is just looking nonchalant.

Roy Keane, the same bloke who made world headlines by walking out on Ireland, his teammates and his manager just a few days before the 2002 world cup. Great player but he doesn't practice what he preach :s13:

Thanks for suggestions guys. Think I'll stay near Piccadilly station this time round.

Wanted try hotel football but match day it's so expensive. $600+ a night.

Enjoy bro. You can explore the city after the match. Visit the football musuem if there is enough time. It's free entry and you won't be disappointed. Market street and the city centre is also worth a walk. Then train back to London at Piccadilly the next day. It's not your first time to Manchester right?

I didn't say he's wrong. But people will take him more seriously if he didn't do what he did in 2002. He let his whole country and the Irish people down that day. But yes i would give my left toe to have Keane captain the side today

Keane side of the story is, all those like hard rock pitch and eating cheese sandwich have been on going, the last straw was when he kena accused of faking injury. :s13:
he simply didn't want to walk out the pitch. better than going out and playing half-hearted like some nowadays.

Will add into my notes.

This will be my second time but my first was 2d1n. Check in hotel, visit stadium tour, next day watch match and after that flew straight back to Paris. Didn't get to explore the city at all.

So this time if got extra day (3d2n), will try to explore a bit of the city. Maybe even visit ethihad stadium lol.

Keane is a poison, either he win you games (positivities) or he will destroy everything you built with his negativities.

Such pple are everywhere, at work we would have seen them.

Just compare Keane and Neville. Both similar in aggression but Gary knows the meaning of respect.

On the bright side we are still the undefeated English team in CL.

Maybe JM is not the right person, who knows.

My point is, as a boss (Ed), he doesn't see the work in details, so he hires an expert to do it for him. But when the expert is working his things, Ed starts doubting him in various areas. So, whoever comes in to replace JM is not going to have a better time. Nothing will change. Someone here said there are changes in past few managers, in our play style blah blah. That person didn't get my point (I doubt he will ever will!) and I lazy to reply.

Fact is Ed will be who he is. He did it to Moyes, to LvG, to JM, and he is not going to change with what he will do with our next managers.

Need to enjoy the positives we have at the moment....like we had 3 shots on target in the last match..and managed a clean sheet (at last).

By the way, I've always wondered where we'll be if DDG ever had a dip in form. Guess we know now.

So far he hasn't had a MOTM game since the start of the world cup. We have been relying too much on him for the past 5 seasons to keep us above mid table/top 6. Of course not all the goals he conceded are his fault but JM must have anticipated this to happen one fine day.

Maybe he knew he screw up and bought the wrong person, so he wants to cut lost? SAF did that too, the most famous one being Taibi.

he's also the same person that panicked and extended JM's contract.
maybe if he knew the football scene better, he won't be played around and know JM got so much time left in the contract for him to do re-assessment of his confidence on the manager.

extend the contract liao coincidentally when other managers suddenly available when we didn't end the season with silverware, suddenly that confidence become shaky. hah! too much coincidence man. been using this club to play FM mode too much.
Maybe that is why Ed is not trusting of Mou's decision.
