Hi.
I have pdi recommendations in CDC SSDC BBDC.
Auto or manual car have!
Toyota Axio, Vios, Jazz, Amera, sunny...

Saw your pm thanks. I couldn’t reply because this is a new account. Can I check if there will be costs incurred going through her to find a suitable PDI?

PDI @ Hougang interchange Toyota Vios manual

Hi

Does any one know the PDI who used to pick students up at the side way of hougang interchange? He used to be my instructor back in 2013, found him to be reliable so would like to learn from him again.

Thanks in Advance

Any recommendations for a reliable and patient PDI for auto car refresher course in the west? Preferably pickup from Queenstown.

Thanks.

1.5 hours $57.

Scolds you for stuff that he hasn't taught you and expected you to know everything and roads around Ubi.

Always demoralise students by saying "you this not good, that not good, you like that cannot pass" etc.

Not sure if he overcharge when booking circuits because he always print screen and censor every information in the SS, except the dates, and asks you to pay a certain amount (what's the point of showing the receipt then?)

Tried asking him some questions relating to driving courtesy and was rebuked with "This one not going to come out on test you care so much for what? Don't ask irrelevant questions. You don't need to care about other people's car, you care your own one can already." (then safety checks for what har?)

Must be careful booking driving lessons with him. Sometimes he just change the dates and expect you to reply and confirm immediately on that day itself.

Confirmed circuit with him a week before and on the actual day he said circuit is full. Asked him why is it a problem when we've already booked the circuit a week before, he just kept avoiding the question saying can always learn parking outside, don't have this week can always next week yada yada. Asked him is it he forgot to book, continued to dodge question and insisted on you agreeing to his change of plans.

Never apologizes for his own mistakes and refuses to admit he's wrong. After that he will push the blame onto you.

100% will not recommend Ivan Tan.

Seems like he got tendency to create fake accounts to promote himself on this forum too.

i lodge report on him before. tot he is a scammer.

Hi out of thread abit.

I have a few question regarding private driving instructors/lessons
(if this is not the right thread, kindly direct me to the right 1 thanks!)

1. How much $$ can one actually save by going the private route?
I actually have a military class 4 licence unconverted. I basically know how to drive and park so i m wondering if private can save me some money.

2. Will it take a long time to get a license going the private route compared to the school?

3. How reliable are these Private Driving Instructors (PDI)? how do i verify if they are registered and qualified??

4. Where can you actually find these instructors other than in the forums? is there an official site etc?

Perhaps some oldbirds can share your experience and thoughts on this?
Newbird here. Thanks in advance!

I can only help with your last question (and a little bit of 1 & 2) because I’m a newbie myself. I found my instructor through googling for PDI, blog reviews, pdireviews and forums. I shortlisted one, left him a text in the morning and he called me that afternoon but then after he confirmed that I have a PDL, he never replied. I didn’t want to double text/wait so I went to look for another one the same way I did with the first.

Ask your friends for recommendations. I wanna learn auto but my friends are all manual so I had to go find my own. Haha. I think it’s a bit trial and error kind, I just had my first lesson on Tuesday and this PDI seems good and patient.

1 - from the calculations I remembered it was few hundreds cheaper to go private. Private comes with the choice of picking a fixed PDI too.

To answer 2, if you’re a fast learner (esp cuz you alr know how to drive?) then it’ll be A LOT faster for you because you can book for your TP as soon as your PDI thinks you’re ready (some PDI wouldn’t let you though) whereas for school I believe you have to at least finish 20-25 lessons?

tgt Military class 4 license can convert to Civilian driving license, if prerequisite driving mileage hit 4,000km during the national service?
