I can only help with your last question (and a little bit of 1 & 2) because I’m a newbie myself. I found my instructor through googling for PDI, blog reviews, pdireviews and forums. I shortlisted one, left him a text in the morning and he called me that afternoon but then after he confirmed that I have a PDL, he never replied. I didn’t want to double text/wait so I went to look for another one the same way I did with the first.
Ask your friends for recommendations. I wanna learn auto but my friends are all manual so I had to go find my own. Haha. I think it’s a bit trial and error kind, I just had my first lesson on Tuesday and this PDI seems good and patient.
1 - from the calculations I remembered it was few hundreds cheaper to go private. Private comes with the choice of picking a fixed PDI too.
To answer 2, if you’re a fast learner (esp cuz you alr know how to drive?) then it’ll be A LOT faster for you because you can book for your TP as soon as your PDI thinks you’re ready (some PDI wouldn’t let you though) whereas for school I believe you have to at least finish 20-25 lessons?
