i think you started the thread just to see if your temp is normal. for me, yes. it is. it will not explode

now, if you want to get it cooler, then u can try to check if your thermal paste tighten properly (as suggested by bro gld998) / see case airflow -ve/+ve thing or even change the cpu cooler =)

Because this cooler I paid a hundred over bucks for it but not performing as intended? so actually wanted to know if my cooler is working as intended..or really thermal paste got issue or really not being installed properly.. hmm

and wouldn't high temp above 80C affect my gaming performance? like having shutters from time to time?

Is the computer case well ventilated?
In aircon room?

To gauge cooler performance, what is the temperature when CPU under 100% load?

I do think 30-40C range when idle seems ok. As long when on load dont exceed 80C with a AIO liquid cooler.

Non air-conditioned room. Think my room ambient temperature is around 29C-32C?

I'm using cryorig r1 universal

Air cooled you are looking at high 30s for idling and probably mid 70s MAX for gaming in a non-aircon room. If you are still past these thresholds, then either :

1) Bad case ventilation

2) Bad mounting and application of TM.

3) BOTH.

Make sure when you mount the cooler tighten it evenly for every screw clockwise. So like 3-4 turns then move on to next screw in a clockwise manner. Do it until there is resistance to tightening and DO NOT over tighten.

If you really want better temps, I'd delid it. You lose warranty but if it is done by someone competent, you will have no issues at all. I did it on my 6700k before and I dropped almost 20 degrees on load. Idling dropped as much as 10 degrees easy.

Try undervolting your cpu. Based on Gamer Nexus's results it helped with the temps by 8-10 degrees.

and basing on this, your cpu is running turbo boost with max clock at 4.6ghz @ 1.325v @ 74c. nothing to worry about. you are good to go

Okay bro, so do you think that there are no issues with my cryorig r1 universal ? I don't have to re-seat my cooler or apply new thermal paste to it?

But the idling temp seem weird thou for a over hundred bucks cooler hmm.

you can if you know how to re-seat and re-apply thermal paste. no harm in trying to see if it helps.

if its ME, i'll just ignore it and continue playing games :s13::s13:

Don't know how to do that but I know that there are plenty of youtube videos guiding people how to do it haha.

For me, if it doesn't affect my gaming experience or decrease my gaming fps/gaming performance..I'm pretty cool with the temp. I'm only afraid of playing games with sudden lag etc..hang...just because of high temp..

it depends on the individual, and its a known fact that Intel's TIM is less than perfect, and this is the way to improve the temp. U can search my thread and there is a HWZ bro doing delliding.

I did my delid from a seller on carousell. PM if you need contact.

Delid + Liquid metal paste.

Before delid, load temp 80C
After delid, load temp 68-72C at 5.1Ghz.

Stock 8700 should hit even lower temp than this. For me the biggest benefit of delid is my system is now very quiet as heat dont build up fast in system

My dual Xeon build idles at 70C at home and I'm hardly even bothered.

People nowadays are too stuck up on their computers than what they should be using those computers hor.

PC Specs
MSI b360 gaming artic +i7 8700

Using cryorig r1 universal and cyorig QF120 fan
Casing : MEShify C

this is my Temp after idling for 10mins.

Is this normal or too high for idling..?

Temps look very normal to me for a 8700, plus you're in non aircon room; there's only so much you can do to shave off the temps in sg's climate.

If you feel like you really need to do something- try reseating the cpu cooler and reapply the thermal paste.
