Hi All!

I'm trying to build my first ever rig and I kinda overwhelm by the different choices and options that I have to choose from. Currently I have a soft budget of 2k SGD and I can came up with something along the lines below. Would appreciate any advice whatsoever as this is my first time.

MOBO - ASROCK Z390 Taichi
CPU - i5 9600k
MOBO + CPU Combo = $765

RAM - Corsair Vengenace LPX 3200 mhz CL16 (8x2) = $225
GPU - RTX 2070 8GB = $779
STORAGE SSD - SAMSUNG EVO 860 500GB M.2 = $149
STORAGE HDD - SEAGATE 2TB 7200RPM = $85

CASING - NZXT H500 ATX T-GLASS CASE = $119

COOLER - C.M HYPER 212 RED LED PWM COOLER = $39

PSO - SEASONIC FP 650 GOLD = $159

Total Damage = $2320

I'm looking to see what are some parts that I can look at to probably bring the total cost slightly down to where my budget is.

Buy the cheapest z390 or z370 board if u don't overclock. Downclock your cpu voltage to reduce temps.

U showing all full price and not discounted prices.

should get ryzen 2700 it is faster than 9600k and runs cooler. Can also reduce voltage to 1v to reduce temps by 20 degrees.

You should wait for new ryzen in a few months

MB+CPU - I would suggest Ryzen instead. If you can wait for a few months, the new Ryzen CPUs should be out.

RAM - The Corsair Vengeance LPs are good RAMs but you can get G.Skill Trident Z RGBs for around the same price or slightly higher (because RGB :) ).

You can get the 750W version of the PSU for the same price.

You might want to get an external HDD as well to backup your files.

I'm too looking to change my CPU+MB
Seems like Ryzen is very popular as compared to 9600k? Was torn between this and 2700x actually
