So with the new law coming, means Sony android tv would be illegal ?

It doesn't come preinstalled with apps streaming from illegal source..

New laws will be tabled in Parliament some time this year to ban the sale of media streaming boxes with "add-on" services that help consumers to access pirated content

So kosong Android box is still legit.

Looking at both KD55X9000F and KD60X8300F... Seems like many are fans of X9000F here... See both backlight are indicated as "Direct LED" on Sony's website... Is the "Direct Backlight" the FALD type or another? Too many features and terms so uncle here a bit confused...

sorry quote wrongly, it should be KD-55X7500F
論影像處理,x7500f係入門款,輸俾宜家大促銷嘅松下Panasonic 55f700x。但係如果你覺得有安卓系統好抵嘅話。。。新力55x7500f,最好睇價錢啦!

Yes, no it will not work. Try not to update or force update else
the TV may brick or won't function properly.
Asia and America the firmware is different, not to mention
pre-load apps are also different.

Basic ones from Amazon, Monprice or Lazada are fine for short lengths.
They will go cheap soon. HDMI 2.1 is on the way..
