FYI if you are a Challenger ValueClub Member, it is selling the Redmi Note 5 3/32GB at S$199 and 4/64GB at S$249. I saw this in the Jurong Point Challenger.

I am still using this phone for my 2nd line which I use more frequently than my main line. No intention to give this up yet as I don't play games and SD636 good enough for me.

Play games that are optimized also no problem. My Mi Max 2 (SD625) OCed to 3GHz has no problem playing darkness fall on high settings and it's $179 now.

Yes seem the Samsung ISOCELL not as good as Sony IMX

Compared to the Koreans, the Japs tech in photography/videography has always been far more superior and they're basically the leader between the two.

Just that the Koreans like to copy them and make something they can call their own.

Bro, how to oc can guide?
Mi Max 2 is free from ARB so no worries.

Just unlock bootloader, flash TWRP then custom ROM. If the ROM comes with OC kernel then use that. If not, just flash an OC kernel.

Just check my post in the Mi Max 2 thread.

I feel xiaomi trying to sell note 7 based on the design and 660 cpu rather den cam power.

Think note 5 still the camera beast of the note series over 6 and 7.
The batt life also still one of the best.

There's no perfect fone.

When they gave chiu something nice, definitely will take away others.

RMN5 obviously "focus" on its camera capabilities and therefore gave its marketing poster as Camera Beast.

RMN7 focus more on its "premium" design and so-called durability (eg. smashing walnuts, watermelons etc)

that 48MP thingy ? Nah, as many hv said, its not even the "real" deal.

Agreed with you on the batt. Full charge can last me est 3 days. Listen to songs, whatsapp and call only. Net surfing mostly on soccer news.

guys any advice for buying a used note 5? anything to look out for?

a friend is willing to sell his 64gb note 5 for $120. he told me the trade in price is less than 100 and he'd rather sell it to me for a bit more. is this price reasonable? he said it's only 1+ yrs old and the condition is ok. i have seen it and it hardly has much scratches, could be bcos it has always been keep in those wallet casing. the glass protection has a bit of scratches and i think that one can probably be replace for < 20?

my son lost his galaxy note 5 during cny and i tot i buy this for him. :(
