grats to all who passed :)

mypillowtalks got a pass degree nia right?

proof that you shouldnt get disheartened by crap grades cause who knows what the future will hold if you continue to work hard huat ah:s12::s12:
Yes my degree low rank de. Gt hard time finding job after grad.

But i only passed the first exam, still long way to go.

Even though i wasnt very well prepared, i felt the questions were reasonable. Not too tough. Enough time for me to answer the questions and check. (Of cos w basic time mgmt, gone thru uni exam should be no problem)

Very lucky there were typical "practical" questions like electrical design for me to choose. Part of my job was doing design n calculations, then calculate vdrop from substation, then involve in testing commisioning etc.

My current job gave me some knowledge n hands on practical experience and i also get see problems in real life.

Thus after revising for the exam, i can relate my job to the textbook theory, so i the concept very logical easy to remember.

if you grad from certain uk unis they require a first class or a masters

aussie go8 leh?? the pdf provided by peb never state the required class of deg tho. only the approved unis. so its safe to assume they dont see the class of deg if its approved??

Hi Apologies for the (very) late reply 😅. Did not realise is almost a year since I last posted. Congrats on passing your paper.

Yes I am a registered PE( Electrical ). Was previously working in a consultancy firm. Currently practicing on my own.

Hi. Thanks for the well wishes.

I saw that the registration is opened, haven't signed up yet.

Are you taking or alreadya PE ?

Yes, I understand it is just a start, I'm lucky to have a few PEs n LEW9s as my supervisors, so just trying my luck. Lots of things to learn for LV & HT. I'm electrical branch, so PE is min. requirement for LEW9, hopefully 20 years later can get...

Currently in power engineering field, have chance to do some work related to LEW.

Hi, I passed my first exams during the second year of work. Paper 2 was cleared after the 4 years eligibility to sign up. However I did not went direct for the Interview. Only went after the final year window is ending. ( Interview application must be applied within 5 years window ).

Around 8-9 years if count from passing paper 1.

Question on 22kV Battery Charger Design

Hello,

Anyone would be able to ans me the following?

"A battery charger is installed in a switchroom for supplying the
protection system of a main switchboard consisting of six 22kV
switchgear panels. You are required to install a 13A switched socketoutlet
for the battery charger from the distribution board which has a
30mA RCCB. You are asked to bypass the RCCB for the 13A
switched socket-outlet circuit. What is the reason for bypassing the
RCCB?"
