Anyone has been flying Silkair regularly? Do you encounter having problem with their app Silkair Studio?

What is your take on overall of Silkair?

No issue when using Silkair Studio ...
When you are onboard the flight, connect to their wifi ...
You would be able to use their silkair studio ...

Their movie selections doesn't seems to be as updated as those on SQ IFE ...
For Silkair flight, no individual IFE ...
Meaning to say, you need to use your tablet or mobile phone to watch the shows. Every few rows, there would be one tiny tv screen at the top corner.

Silkair is basically going down the drain. I try to avoid as much as I could unless bo bian. The Silkair studio never works on my iphone, laptop, etc. The movies selections is limited and also the meal selection. Half the time I don't get to select what I want. It is always "sorry we ran out of Menu A...."

Silkair, cant expect SQ service ...
note that the luggage damaged policy is different from SQ policy ...

For Silkair, anything that is broken, which is attached to the luggage, such as wheel, handle.
If is missing or cracked or damaged, silkair wont compensate ...
SQ Would compensate if u r flying with SQ flight ...

Yes agree. Expensive for Budget flight. Out of so many SilkAir I have taken, only last year I kena their new plane from Darwin to SQ whereby there is an USB port.

But I will still take SilkAir if the timing is better than the rest.

At least budget flight I get to select the food from the menu what I want. Silkair never get a choice and paying more than budget. The Studio is never working for me and when I complaint, they gave standard answer that engineer said is working well.

So far I never claim baggage damaged but the last flight with Silkair, the baggage was delayed more than an hour for collection.

For the price paid, Silkair is no different from budget saved for the inflight meal which sucks. Entertainment no better. I took because no choice Chiang Mai (now got other options), Semarang, Makkasar.

Normally they would switch on their silkair studio about 20 minutes after their flight departs ... kinda long ... Flew with them on short distance flight, basically only have about an hour to watch ife show ...

Silkair = budget airline + 30kg + meals on board + ife (on your own mobile device)

For example, if Phuket is $120, budget airline is $90
can consider flying silkair lol ...
$30 more with 30kg luggages and meals on board not bad though ...

My experience with the Silkair Studio app was I could not access it with a previously downloaded app on my mobile. I had to delete that and reinstall the app again on the current flight before it worked. No idea why it's like that...

Anyhoo, Scoot and Silkair are my last choices for flights unless really no reasonable alternatives.

20 minutes, 30 minutes, back and forth flights also did not work. I give up using their app. Must use my own device & ear piece is already a chore.

I'm also putting Silkair as last choice.

and yet the engineer said no problem, I guess not enough people complain about it.

Yup... got once, their ife was shut down for 1hour+
the staff says there is some issues with them ...
They would also tell u to reconnect or reboot your device (few times) ...

not much people really connect to their silkair studio from my observations, flying with them few times ... most would just sleep or watch the tiny screen at the top corner ...
