The new update cause my finger print security to fail, ie. It does not recognise finger print scan anymore on my Mate 10 Pro. Anyone faced the same issue?

Anyway, it seems they hid the fingerprint management option. You can only find it when you search. And even if you can find it, it will not launch or crash out of the settings.

U didn't read news?

Alleged for spying, money laundering and supplying equipment to terrorists-laden countries.

Spying happens in US as well. I think this is no more new news. Supplying equipments/ helping terrorist nations, there are many firms that does that. Even big banks do that but yet people don't boycott these banks? While it's not good to help terrorist, the US boycott base on spying don't make sense to me. Its really the case of the pot calling the kettle black.

I've wrote an email to Huawei CS, and waiting to see if there is any resolution. They came back earlier with the option to roll back to an earlier firmware. But it only allows me to roll back to Android 8, which I am not keen. So have to wait and see if they fix this problem. For potential Mate 10 Pro upgraders, please beware of version 9.0.0.200. I did see someone complaining of broken security on GSMArena forum after installing this version.

I have been using this firmware 9.0.0.200 for a while (more than a mth) and i dont face any FP issue. Maybe you would like to back up your data and do a factory reset and see if this helps to resolve your FP. Good luck

Yeah, I'll give it a shot. Just wanted to get a sense if there are folks out there with this problem. Huawei CS just mentioned that they will roll out a small update to address this issue.

I just did a factory reset. Unfortunately, it seems like the fingerprint reader may be dead or software is thoroughly messed up. I don't know if the firmware update killed it, but basically it just failed immediately after the update to 9.0.0.200. I don't think it is a coincidence. Even after updating to 9.0.0.223, the feature is just not there anymore. Disappointed... :o Looks like I have to make a trip to service center.

Sounds more like a hardware failure to me eh. Did you drop your phone recently or have anything dropped on your phone?

Nope, I believe I only dropped my phone once but that was quite sometime back, i.e. could be one year ago. While it could be a coincidence, but I am pretty sure the fingerprint reader failed immediately after I updated the firmware and the phone restarted. Which was why my initial thought was that I've installed a botched firmware. In any case, only way is to bring it back for service now.

Hi everyone,

I have a silly question. How do your login to public WiFi such as ichangi or hotel WiFi.

My previous mobile phones don't have this issue, but when I'm using Mate 10 pro, it keeps refusing to connect.

Thanks for your help in advance

for iChangi, i use their app and it'll direct me to their landing page.

Public wifi connection should automatically direct you to their landing page but if it doesn't work, just open any website and hopefully, it'll ask you to log-in or register to access the public wifi

Check under mobile Network setting.
Disable private dns when trying to connect to those Network and re-enable when no longer using

Have the exact problem as you, unable to connect to work and hotel wifi. Tried all kinds of procedure like disabled DNS etc but doesn't seem to work. Screenshot the page to Huawei fb page but they can't solve the problem. Very frustrated indeed but got to just accept this flaws.

Ichangi is able to connect though, need to download the app for it to work.
