Having done anatomy for animals during your studies, let's say you're found in a life-and-death situation with a human, and no hospital nearby. Do you think you'll have adequate knwoledge to perform some surgery on the human, or at least something? Quite curious to find out!

Anecdotally, there are plenty of stories of veterinarians stepping in to perform surgery in extraordinary circumstances such as being thousands of miles from nearest hospital. Usually these are limited to basic wound suturing or setting bone.

The principles of surgery, internal medicine, etc are the same across all species.

I would do that if it was that easy. She has social issues and aggression problems.

My approach to the really aggressive dog would be to still bring it in to a vet, have a consult and discussion then send home with oral sedation. Sign AMA waiver as sedation before a full physical exam is done can be a bit risky but you dont have much of a choice really...

Come back next day when it is sedated, and I will get you the lovely owner to quietly slip a muzzle on and voila....we're in business

Telling me that your dog has 'social and aggression issues' doesnt absolve you of your responsibility as an owner to provide medical care for your pet

Hi, I have a daschund, 8 years old. Yesterday brought to vet because his tummy was very hard and vibrate when breathing. The doctor injected and gave some painkillers. The next day my daschund back legs are weak and can't really walk, very wobbly he kept whining too like he is in pain. Brought to the vet and was suspected to have a slipped disc. Did the xray and couldn't find anything wrong. Blood test shows that he is healthy too. Was then recommended to get the ct scan, do you know or recommend any vet in Singapore for the ct scan? Thank you

Thank you for your recommendation for the ct scan. Had brought my daschund to gaia and was diagnose with ivdd. However he is still able to walk just abit wobbly, I'm not sure If surgery is really the best option. Please advice :(
