How can it be?

The app on my phone has a More Info bar which expands to show details of the new firmware. I clicked "Later" button after reading it so it doesn't update.
Maybe you clicked the "OK" button?

Pretty sure i did not allow that. I have previously updated to v2 using the app before.

Is this headphone suitable for gaming? Actually i quite confused with all the functions available out there.

Gaming headphone boast 7.1 surround sound thingy.. dunno what DTX system etc.

Like for example steelseries arctis 7. Are these just marketing tactics? hmm?

Will this be a factor in comparing gaming headset and headsets like sony wh1000xm3?

Will it affect in games? like hearing footsteps front back side etc.

I want something that i can use both for gaming and bringing it out to listen to music.. but i scared if i got this for gaming and it doesn't work like how i want it to work then i'm screwed.

Sony wh1000xm3 is for outdoor and music listening but not gaming.
Sony PS Gold and plantinum headset are for gaming with virtual surround.

So headphones are catered for different usage and the tech is different.
As for virtual surround, DTS-X Headphone is a surround sound format
used in certain gaming headset like Logitech G433 and etc.

When finding a gaming headest, surround sound format doesn't matter.
You should consider is whether can it simulate surround sound like in 7.1 for certain headsets.

Surround effects like hearing someone from behind is possible but depend on how well the gaming headphone simulate this.

Thanks! How is it holding so far? Noise isolation still as good as original earpads? Does the suede make it less hot?

is easy to change the earpads btw?
Anc a bit not as good, not sure if it's the new firmware which I updated on the same as I swap the cups.

Comfort wise, it's so much better. I no longer feel hot n sweat. I can wear it straight for 4hr without a single sweat unlike last time, I felt uncomfortable just after 10min. Have to swipe my sweat every 20-30min.

It's quite easy to change. There's a YouTube on how to do it.

Ahhh...could you try swapping back to the original earpads to compare again. :D

sorry, i lazy to do that, already kept the original cups in store.

The comfort alone is more than enough for me to get these cups

Returned the headphones. The earpads aren't breathable. Ears constantly hot and had sweat rings around each ear.

Bass too strong as well. Can't adjust the bass if using any other formats like aptx/ldac. It can only be changed while using sdc.

The bass is generous for sure, but if the bass is overpowering, i wonder what weak roll-ed off bass products you have been using.

but of course it all comes down to personal preference.

i find that the bass helps with "cancelling" out the background noise as well.

The weak roll-ed off bass product I'm using is the HD650. You can judge how I like bass with that.

Sony's EQ setting requiring a lower audio codec is the deal breaker for me.

Ah Yeap, you don't like bass that much 😂

Yes the eq on the headphones requires setting to the lower tier codec, but your source should have an eq ?
