Hi everyone,

I have a silly question. How do your login to public WiFi such as ichangi or hotel WiFi.

My previous mobile phones don't have this issue, but when I'm using Mate 10 pro, it keeps refusing to connect.

Thanks for your help in advance

Thank you for your suggestions. I went to play with the settings abit. So it seems like if you have private DNS enabled (I use dns.google) then this problem will surface.

When I disabled private DNS, it seems to resolve the issue. Tested with wireless@SG and it brought me to the landing page.

Cheers

Have 1 stupid question for Mate 10 pro.

Most of the time the camera (in auto mode) will enhance the colour according to the kind of photo you are taking but there are times that phone overdoes it.
Eg. When i taking a photo of yellow flowers (Camera recognise it as flower profile), it actually turns the flower color to almost orange.

Is there anything i can do to minimise or avoid that?

TIA.

Did u check whether the vivid setting is on? You can disabled it for more natural color.

Recently my WhatsApp notification doesn't appear. Will only load new msgs when I open the app.

Tried all the methods adviced online, but doesn't seem to help.

Could it be linked to the latest Android update? Anyone can suggest solution for this?

Either...

(1) In battery -> launch apps (something like that), you disabled whatsapp running in background

(2) In data usage window, you disabled whatsapp to send data in background

(3) You disabled notification for Whatsapp app

Try either of the 3 on top see which one is the culprit. Mine no issue with latest update. Any apps will fail but not whatsapp haha

Can try these :-
1) Go to Settings -> Search "Battery optimisation" and in there "All apps" look for WhatsApp and set to "Don't allow" = Not Allowed

2) Go to Settings -> Battery -> App Launch -> Change WhatsApp to "Manage manually"

I just did a factory reset. Unfortunately, it seems like the fingerprint reader may be dead or software is thoroughly messed up. I don't know if the firmware update killed it, but basically it just failed immediately after the update to 9.0.0.200. I don't think it is a coincidence. Even after updating to 9.0.0.223, the feature is just not there anymore. Disappointed... :o Looks like I have to make a trip to service center.

The new update cause my finger print security to fail, ie. It does not recognise finger print scan anymore on my Mate 10 Pro. Anyone faced the same issue?

As a follow up on the issue of the missing fingerprint feature after the firmware update; its confirmed that the firmware update is the cause of the issue rather than failed hardware. I've brought it back to Huawei service center and the CS confirmed that this increasingly becoming a common problem and they have already feedback to Huawei software developers to investigate and resolve this issue.

In case anyone runs in this same issue, currently your only way to resolve it is to bring it back to the service center where they will check and install a patch to bring back the feature. For my case, it took them close to 30 mins to fix the issue and I collected it back on the same day.

I off and on the Wi-Fi but the mobile data icon still on... At first I didn't think much of it. I only know something is wrong after I check my data usage. I wanted to do speedtest then realised that it only detect my mobile data and not wifi. Any solution for this?

I had the same issue as yours yesterday evening. Realized 4g icon was there when connected to home wifi. Initially thought wifi+ setting was turned on, but was not. So, did a on/off to wifi setting and 4g icon was gone when re-connected back to home wifi. Seems quite strange such issue happened to few of us. Btw, mine was mate10pro.

same here .. i only notice it when I'm doing a call via wifi (Google Duo) but if it's just browsing, or any of the online messaging app, the 4G icon disappears.

For mate 10 (or pro)... How to make WhatsApp icon appear at lock screen when there is incoming message? Do not want to show contents. Reason is to make it more prominent as compared with the notification/indicator light which is so dim and tiny.

Go into notification settings (the phone one not whatsapp one), choose to hide sensitive content.

I think I have noticed this issue since the first time I got this phone. It's strange why HUAWEI have not fixed the bug..
