Another question, is GOMO considered a prepaid or post paid, some users asked. It is because if in future we wanted to port out to other retailer, we are not able to do so as the number is prepaid.

Please verify if its prepaid. From what I see, gomo works just like postpaid.
how is it working like a postpaid plan when we are supposed to pay for the service in advance..

I contacted gomo support and yes u need to convert to postpaid service before porting to other telcos. Gomo is a prepaid service number.

True, but just have to see what ST says. It might be postpaid plan acting like prepaid way of doing.

oh man, then those who really wanted Gomo should think twice. It's an extra step to convert your plan to Singtel sim-only no-contract before porting

Hi all,

GOMO is considered a postpaid service.

Hope this clarifies.

Thanks.

Isn't gomo postpaid???

apparently GOMO is prepaid that's topped up by SingTel monthly. so it's pseudo-postpaid

when you sign up for gomo, they charge you $20 on the spot, in order for you to use 20gb, 200min, 200sms for 30 days.. after 30 days, if your card payment fail, no service. if successful, another 30 days.

does that sound like postpaid to you? postpaid is use first then bill you later.. not the other way round.

Thanks for the clarification. I just checked again with gomo support and this time they mentioned it's a postpaid service. Subscribers won't need to convert to postpaid service before porting to other telco.

Hi all,

GOMO is considered a postpaid service.

Hope this clarifies.

Thanks.

.
for my postpaid plans, when I exceed my entitled usage, my services are not affected and I get billed for my excess in the upcoming bill.

for gomo, if my entitled usage has depleted, my services are cut off unless I "top up" for the $10 additional quota. so how is that postpaid when upfront payment is required?

*edit* this post is in response to Eric's post which he has deleted.

Seem like a prepaid service but it's a postpaid.

1) Singtel prepaid cannot sign up for gomo.
2) postpaid number cannot downgrade to prepaid in all Telco.

GOMO is a promotion package and it is standalone or an entity by itself, since it operate independently.
As stated in their T&C:
"GOMO Mobile Plan post-sales support is available at GOMO’s self-serve channels such as GOMO Website and GOMO mobile app."

As some users commented earlier being told it was prepaid, there could be some truth on this.

GOMO could be a prepaid service then their products have to pay before using, as in their T&C section B (4) "recurring payments".. else "suspended".

GOMO main product is their Mobile SIM which they created as postpaid line.
Not forgetting that there is this free Travel SIM which is a prepaid line.

Do aware that for prepaid service and any unused value is non-refundable, as stated in T&C section A 1 (i).
Example, if you top up $10 for additional mobile data and unable to finish at the end before next billing, then it would be forfeited.
So do read their T&C closely.

Prepaid refers to services paid for in advance, while postpaid/prepaid plans/lines are products.

Sorry about that post being deleted, though i find some interesting details on reading their T&C.
Note that this is my opinion & views on this matter.

Actually it's singtel prepaid card. The APN setting for gomo card is hicard, which is intended for prepaid only.

lol just an update. its been a month since i purchased their services. other than the seriously incompetent customer services,(which i will cover below) everything else is stable.

i see Singtel official account commenting below so lemme warn you guys what you are getting.
Singtel and GOMO CS team are saying different things from the start, for the imessage and the prepaid/postpaid issue, you can see that they are clueless especially those GOMO support chat agents. All of them are on different tones.
Not to mentioned the hard time getting connected when i first started 3weeks ago.

So when i had just signed up last month, everyone seems to be getting their confirmation email which i didnt. I spoke to their CS team at least 2 times with all of their agents saying that due to heavy traffic, will delay for a few days.
But after paying for the card and getting it after 2days (yes there is a few days delay when you pay the $20 and basically you are wasting that few days since they charge immediately), i just used the card so i sort of forgotten about the confirmation email. There is a notice saying that if you paid and registered on the same day before 10.30am, you could select same day delivery. I call this ******** when all of their CS team is so hard to get connected to, let alone having such an efficient schedule.

I thought that this will not affect anything till this morning. i received an SMS and at the other GOMO thread below, some of the users actually received an email for the gojek voucher and extension of the service.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...t-singtel-launches-gomo-20gb-$20-6015995.html

I also received the SMS stating the same thing, but there is no sight of the email. I spoke to their CS Team an hour ago once again, and the same old template answer, delay blah blah blah, so i told this particular agent everything from the start since the confirmation email. She then went on and said to update the email for me, and before i could respond, she cut off the conversion.
So i continued and spoke to the other agent. He told me that there was no email provided and the previous one already did the update for me. I dont know what the hell they are smoking, with both of them on a different tone. How the F can i get the registration process cleared if i didnt provide the email.
And right till now, I am still talking to the same agent and he has put me on hold for almost 10mins+, unable to give me an answer when i told him that his side is unable to send me my initial confirmation email let alone this gojek thing and in future any other promotion if there is any.

So in short, their customer services is really damn bad. i would advise anyone of you looking at this promo to stay away. I'm on the verge of ending this service. Seriously i couldnt care less about their extra days of service or even the voucher anymore.
I think Circle or Starhub is worthy of getting my $20 even if i am getting lesser for the money worth.

I signed up a new line and it's been fine for me. But I will hesitate to port my main number to Gomo. They can't even get the basic of prepaid or postpaid correctly. This is very crucial for me. I don't wanna change to postpaid just to port to another telco, I'm not bothered with the working mechanism of prepaid or postpaid.

Thinking of changing to GOMO from Combo 2, but reading about the prepaid/postpaid issue has been worrying me. If I change to GOMO and want to port out in the future I cannot use the same number? Why?

Can port out.

Only cons is you have to pay upfront $20
