Yes, I am using POSB. When need to use the app as a token to "Tap to approve" online purchase, it function as per normal. I just screenshot the token but not the portion where "tap to approve" as now I dun have any transaction to do.

Even for Singpass token, it works as per normal.

This is one of the function that I love which is inbuild into China version. I remember Xiaomi local version also had it.

Edit: Dunno why images are not showing..

When Huawei is launching their own OS, banks might not want to support the OS due to security reasons.

I believed when new OS at the start, bank support will not be there. As time goes by, I am sure the support will be there. I will hold on to my China version Mate 20x till new Huawei phones with better app support are available. Huawei phones are the only phone which I used wihtout giving me headache. I came from iPhones, and the reception and suddenly signal loss in my previously XS Max made me gave up iPhone for Huawei completely. Previously I was still using XS Max with Huawei P20 Pro (work phone). Then I completely changed my personal and work phone to Mate 20x, one local and one china version as I wanna to get the 256gb 8gb ram version. No Samsung for me as curve screen are not my cup of tea.

I am using China Version Mate 20x and it had zero google apps or even playstore. I just download playstore and rest of the google app I dun use at all. Most of the apps are also side loaded. To me, whether or not google ban huawei or not, it will not affect me. I can live without google services. After using china version huawei phones, I already decided not to use local version Huawei phones. People mentioned china phones had lots of craps bake into their rom but I think otherwise. The only thing that is bake in, is the internet browser. Rest of the china apps that came with the phone can be uninstall using using the normal method. Btw, the internet browser is good to use too.

Steady lah I like your post.
Yes yes you and I can live without Google services - GS. But you don't order food? Because the food apps need GS.
And you don't book grab too?

They are bann from using google services only if its installed by huawei out of the box, you can sideload them all later on. Its the same as linageOS, which is all intense and purpose uses the AOSP version of android, and they side loads the google apps/services for linage OS to use. Correct me if i am wrong

Serious bro, I never order food online before or even grab. I drive either my own car or company car. Otherwise, I cycle for sake of exercise after work.. :D

I just check my phone, yes you are right. I downloaded and installed Google Play Store, and google play services was also installed inside. I just did a test, I uninstalled both playstore and play services, then reinstall google playstore version 13.6.20, google play service was inside together. So, you mentioned google play services can be sideloaded is correct. Cheers.

Google still can block the services on their server end cos each model of the phone has their unique identifier.

You can always side load. But in order to login and get applications update. Your photo is required to send a certificate that consist of photo maker/model in order to obtain correct update. This will be blocked. So even you have Google play store, you would not be able to get update.

Don't think Google is that stupid to let anyone use without control.

Noted, thanks for the info. Fortunately for me, I dun use play store that heavily and lots of my apps can be updated using Huawei app store. I used playstore to installed social app like whatsapp, telegram and wechat. I guess these app can be sideloaded.

All these are workarounds. Not something a typical user wants to deal with in 2019. This might work for you, but for the global market? With the abundance of Android choices nowadays, Huawei would have to make a god-tier handphone for me to even consider sideloading, ROM swapping and what have you.

It is a short term thing only la. If this continue, I think US and China are in deep ****. This kind of lose-lose fight quite jialat one.

US banning Huawei potentially will have $15 bil revenue lost. How many ppl must they retrench globally? What is China going to do next? Ban other US hardware companies? So far only trump more aggressive to anyhow CHEONG. Previously up interest up to screw ppl, now want Fed to lower interest. Lol?

And now with ARM halting business with Huawei, even processor loophole update will be impacted.

Even ARM is cutting ties with Huawei. Which means Huawei cannot make their processors too since based on ARM. This is really the last punch to Huawei face.

I'm curious of what bargaining chips China has on the table. Something that will make Trump anxious. Hahahaha....
