I stayed there a few times but booked off the Airbnb platform because it's cheaper. It depends on how well the host maintains the unit.

The listings I booked are still quite new (renovated/refurbished). Carpark is separated from the mall and security is tight which is what I like.
Lifts are a pain at peak periods. Can be a bit noisy at night especially if you're facing the road. One unit I stayed have a bit of mouldy smell probably due to too much aircon and the high turnover means they don't have time to open the windows to ventilate the place.

I've another trip coming up at D'Esplanade this month. Aim is for shopping and eating in a group of 6. Was looking at the ones at R&F but that mall is so dead. Those at Iskandar area is a bit far. In the end settled for KSL D'Esplanade, familiar surroundings and suit my needs. Good location, easy to take Grab to other places.

If it's a trip to relax and chill, I don't mind staying at Iskandar, enjoy the view and facilities like a resort.
Iskandar not much things to eat leh very far from everything.

Iskandar is good to relax and chill. Have seaview. Like resort. I haven't tried but I intend to do so one weekend later this year.

For shopping, D'Esplanade is great because it's directly connected to the mall. The other new condos/Airbnbs, the description says near Paradigm Mall which means you might still end up taking Grab or driving to the mall itself, it's not really my thing.

My next bet is the condo at R&F Mall. Turned out the Airbnb listing was more expensive than the one at D'Esplanade, comparing similar size and dates. Weighing the pros and cons (more wear and tear at D'Esplanade, brand new but dead R&F), I booked D'Esplanade for my trip later this month.

Thanks for the info, will try to remember to check out the place properly next time I'm there. That night was a bit of a rush, so it's pretty much eat-and-go. :D

Quite a few already, when I look from my KSL hotel room, can see activities throughout the night in the streets below, up until 4am or so. Just the lok-lok vans alone, there're 3 within sight. But I'll let the rest here tell you what's good and where(else). :)

Ahh where did u see the 3 Lok lok vans? I saw only 1 opp main entrance of ksl, near the ksl bkt.

My last trip there, I saw another one outside KSL D'Esplanade Residence but I'm thinking maybe this one only on pasar malam days...

Anyway, the 3 are:
- near the BKT which you've seen
- further down the road where the coffeeshops are
- even further down to the T-junction, though this may be only late at night

Was browsing Marmolada Food Court's FB page, when I came across a posting on the fried chicken that I tried after seeing a recommendation here.

If I'm not mistaken, the name of the stall is Melaka Nasi Lemak. ;)

Was back in Marmolada and Melaka Nasi Lemak was closed since it's Wednesday. Had Singapore Hokkien fried prawn noodles instead and it's good!

Thought of going to the new food court but decided against walking that direction. Maybe another time.

Decided not to venture to the new foodcourt, but instead returned to Marmolada.

Regular favorites like fried chicken, "better-than-many-in-SG" Singapore fried hokkien prawn noodles, asam boi drink, and Kulai bean curd from the satay stall.

For the fried chicken, I'd recommend trying their fried chicken skin if you don't mind "sinfully good" munchies. :D
