I think polymer screen is here to stay for foldable phones in future as glass simply can't fold.

At most they can the polymer more resistant to scratch and minimise the folding line.

For now Gorilla Glass is coming out soon with a foldable glass. But its minimum radius is 5mm which means if fold inwards there'll be a gap of 10mm. Which makes it more suitable for outward folding.

How hard or tough all polymer plastic can be easily scratched. Glass is still the better choice......even then it also can be scratched

Nice review. I would agree completely.

My thoughts on the Fold

As far as the OS and software they are the same like when you are using another android phone.

The difference is that I'm paying expensively for technologies that many don't have at the moment. Yes, it is still a first gen device but the inward-folding polymer screen and the fold mechanism is something no other company can duplicate for now.

Am I proud to own the Fold? Yes, I'm.

Is it worth it? As an early adopter I would say yes.

Is the hassle in extra care and precautions in handling causing an issue? It actually increases my awareness of my surroundings when I use the Fold like not knocking into somebody/something or vice versa, watching for trips, holding tight, not getting spilled with liquids etc

Any shortfalls in the Fold that disappoints me? Yes. Releasing late, not using SD855+, not having better camera system, should come buttonless/bezeless/notchless, with 3D facial scan, in-screen speaker, under-screen ultrasonic fingerprint reader, use glass instead of polymer for screen and having the faster F2FS storage system like in its Note 10+ etc

Would I buy another similar device in future as an early adopter? Yes, if the technologies then can be proven to be better than now. See some examples mentioned above

Thanks for sharing your personal experience. I started using my fold as my main phone yesterday. My thoughts are as some mentioned it is indeed rather heavy. 2nd thing is keeping the phone folded most of the time, the screen bend line becomes more obvious as during the first few days, I kept my phone open while in storage.

Other than the above, it is a nice new tech to have and samsung has designed and made it rather well built for a first gen device. The initial release to reviewers was a good move in my opinion. The reviewer units issues were discovered in real world testing as well as rough use especially.

The difference is that I'm paying expensively for technologies that many don't have at the moment. It is a device which integrates convenience and converging technologies. Well done..
I will support (pay) for any techno changes thus we could gain more in time.

Power! What are your thoughts of having 2 folds?

My superb brief reviews were made many post back.
Like what was mentioned through Appartus...heavy, additional care needed.

However, i noticed that the "levelness" on my 2 folds are difderent. The 2nd unot feels more polish (more flat).

I might be going M1 tomorrow, will check and update here.
Hi bro,
Can confirm if you're able to just walk in and buy
I've a very deep suspicion that they can release stock, only if you sign up new line and not recontract. This is from the hint that the Samsung staff gave me yesterday

For M1 I not too sure. But starhub strictly only sign up new plan. Not able to buy outright.

Look at the thickness of the Spigen and the original case. And it fits like a glove. Very happy with it. This will really protect the whole phone as a whole but add quite alot of bulk to the already heavy phone.
