Aimesh is different altogether. Cannot compare with that.

Imagine your wifi router is broadcasting AX but your mesh are AC only, then it's kinda useless because you'll have 2 separate SSIDs and that anything connected to mesh will not be handed over to router without a drop in connection.

Thanks. Mean Singtel router’s WiFi is turned off due to the mesh? Thus the WiFi signal only broadcast by the 2 mesh devices?

Then it’s very different to let say aimesh by ASUS.

Set same SSID lor. My friend also do like that with his Singtel mesh. WiFi roaming works fine since mostly have new gadgets at home and seemless roaming at router side is a lie anyways.

So meaning in the default Singtel setup with Singtel router, the router is not broadcasting WiFi but leave it to the 2 mesh devices to broadcast WiFi and thus buying another router is useless if continue default Singtel setup?

there's a reason why you use Mesh in the first place right? i.e. better coverage.
Not that you can't connect another router to broadcast another ssid... but what's the point?

If you don't want to use Mesh and want to use own router, then don't get the mesh devices in the 1st place?

Cos it comes the plan with mesh comes free for 1 year for me. I didn’t know their mesh implementation is like that.

it can be used for ethernet backhaul and as a switch for your LAN device.
Thanks. Meaning if I can wired to the mesh from my router to improve the signal?

Hi, still very confused after reading a few threads about the broadband issues, hope anyone can help me with the following questions, thanks in advance.

I am getting my new resale flat, there is optical point in living room, and will have cat6 cable connect to the room behind, for pc working and playing games and watching streaming video. Not intended to install TV at living room.

1. If i get the Singtel 1Gbps plan, I guess ONT is preferred if i want to use third party router? it seems a lot of negative comments about the AC Plus. Singtel will provide ONT right?

2. If I find the wifi signal is poor at toilet and the room behind, can i purchase mesh and link it up by myself? What's the difference between buying from IT outlets and getting from Singtel and subscribing its mesh plan?

3. what can i do with the cat6 point at the room behind other than connect it to my pc?

Thanks!

New sign ups are given ONR.

As people have already indicated the details to log into it and change to ONT, then supposedly it should work with 3rd party routers with vlan support.

Is there any difference between the AirTies 4920 and Askey AP5100W mesh system?

From what I see from HWZ review, Airties 4920 seems to have a shorter 5GHz coverage than the Askey but Askey app seems to not work well on Android from the app reviews on Play Store.

Hi,our singtel mesh middle led (5hgz) keep on blinking red light and our wifi show no internet connection. We been visit to singtel causeway outlet and they refer us to contact for technical support and we enquires about new/additional mesh device which we then visit +serv woodland where turn out no provide replacement for Askey mesh device/no stock. Now we have few doubt, we doesn’t know the true ‘no internet connection’ root cause (mesh device issue/singtel wifi coverage issue/other issue). Pls get technical support to check the issue then only we can know how to solve it . Thanks
