Yes n it will be faster if u alrdy have CIMB SG online banking.

Yes only 1 branch in JB to update new passport

Msia acc need min 250rm to open acc n 15rm/year service fee for debit card

Need to have CIMB Sg account first. I went to CIMB@Orchard to open CIMB Malaysia account. Just need to bring along IC and passport to the branch. The staff will help to complete the application forms, I just sat there staring at her filling the forms. That stack of forms took about half hour to complete.

I guess need to go to the branch at Jalan Kuning Dua to change your passport details. Since your Malaysia account is tied to passport.

But I opened my acct at the Jalan Segget branch, do I go to Jalan Segget or Jalan Kuning Dua to update the passport?

So if open in Sg, must go to Jalan Kuning Dua

What if open @ any branch in JB?

I opened a CIMB SG account. The person advised me not to open a CIMB MY account although he can do it if I insist, just need my passport at the SG branch but once they open for me in SG, anything related to the MY account including changing of particulars, I can only go to that one branch in JB. All other branches in MY will not entertain me. Note that my needs are just for usual shopping and travelling in MY, not buying house or any huge spendings.

I was advised the best way is to have a CIMB ATM card which I can use to withdraw money at the 2 branches in SG and at all CIMB ATMs in MY (which there are many in MY like our POSB ATMs here). I was told the exchange rate, although based on live forex rates, is comparable to what we get at money changers here and there's no admin fee since it's a CIMB SG to CIMB MY transaction. Anyone tried this method? What's the exchange rate like?

i have opened my CIMB SG and MY accounts too.

Just received the debit/atm card via courier and need to activate my CIMB MY savings account by doing a funds transfer.

For the card activation, any one know if it's indeed the case that i have to call the CIMB MY IVR system to activate or can i do it via other options? If call is required, it is mandatory to use the phone which I have registered during the account opening or can i just use any?

I just opened yesterday. Smooth application.

Hi. Did you create your account online or you already had an account with CIMB before heading to Orchard? I read a few comments from other posters saying that the staff at Orchard said it’s not possible for them to open CIMB Malaysia account from Singapore.

Appreciate your help. Thank you

the online rates seems bad these few days as compared to the money changer. I thought CIMB online will offer a rate closer to spot.

If I just want to have a basic account with minimal balance to facilitate the opening of the MY account, which SG account should I choose? Is CIMB FastSaver Account the one? :o

Edit: Opened the CIMB FastSaver account online and did the initial transfer of $1K to activate it. Now waiting for the 6-digit PIN before I can do anything else.
