Hi Manimo,

We have received your details over email and are escalating your case.

We will get back to you as soon as we have updates from broadband product team.

Thanks.

Hi,our singtel mesh middle led (5hgz) keep on blinking red light and our wifi show no internet connection. We been visit to singtel causeway outlet and they refer us to contact for technical support and we enquires about new/additional mesh device which we then visit +serv woodland where turn out no provide replacement for Askey mesh device/no stock. Now we have few doubt, we doesn’t know the true ‘no internet connection’ root cause (mesh device issue/singtel wifi coverage issue/other issue). Pls get technical support to check the issue then only we can know how to solve it . Thanks

Samsung connect home issues

Hi

I would like to ask everyone here if anyone encountered a problem with setting up the Samsung connect home using SingTel Fibre?

I recently just sign up for a new fibre plan for my resale house and i did the following:

Fibre point -> ONR -> AC plus router -> Samsung connect home(IN Port)

Now the issue is that the Samsung light shows red and green which means it's ready for pairing but when I use the app to pair it, it keeps saying cables not connected properly and then kicks me out to the main page of the app. (tried using diff phones to pair as well as using diff unit but it always says the same thing. i think it might be the ONR but i might be wrong)

Been trying the whole night with a Samsung tech guy as I just bought this like 1 day ago and he has no idea why it doesn't connect. they are escalating but if this doesn't work. Can I take my connect home to Singtel and ask to change to another unit like airtiles or askey? doesn't make sense for them to sell me a plan that doesn't work right? paid 12/mth for this and it was supposed to be fuss-free but clearly not. the worse thing is that they have an upcoming roadshow at the end of the month selling this. if this doesn't solve I'm sure they will get a lot of angry customers.

Any Samsung connect home owners can shed some light? I call singtel and all it says is that they can't verify the information and I will need to go down to the shop to talk to the sales person. feels like they are just pushing me to the next person who is willing to solve this.

Try connecting the first Samsung node directly to the Singtel ONR instead. Place the 2nd Samsung mesh node within 2m from the first node and setup the pairing.

Hi Badjojo,

Thanks for reaching out.

We've checked directly with the broadband product team and they also suggested what KalTorak just posted: connect the Samsung Connect Home unit directly to a free LAN port of your ONR.

However, do use a pin to press the reset button of the Samsung Connect Home unit before you connect to the ONR.

Let us know how it goes, we can escalate your case if this suggested method doesn't resolve the issue.

Thanks.

So a little update on how I managed to get it working.

I went to the Samsung store and send it in.

They pair it up for me on the spot. According to them, some units have this sort of behavior. I also paired the other unit together with my main mesh.

Took it back home and plug into the router or in my case fibre point->ONR->Router->wall socket->eternet switch->main Mesh

I didn't attempt to re-pair/reset the mesh at home in the fear that I have to go down and set it all up again.

The Samsung tech guy says there is nothing wrong with the unit. So technically I have not much idea why it works when I pair at their place instead of my place.

I can confirm that all my router ports are working and wifi was fine initially when I started the setup process as I tested all the ports on my router with my laptop to see if there is a good internet connection.

Hi,
I am also getting this message on my air ties app:
Warning: You are connected to your home gateway, not an AirTies Node. Please turn your gateway's wireless feature off to use the high performance AirTies wireless network.

I am also getting erratic wifi performance. My devices loses wifi connection intermittently. I have already restarted the Singtel ONR and airties modules.

How can I troubleshoot the issue?

Thank you.

hi i am also getting the same msg on my app.

my setup is currently ONT > Airties > AcPlus (wifi broadcast OFF)

Also, although I am on a 1Gbps plan, I am only getting around 300mbps maximum uplodad and download speeds. Anyone able to advice?

We are on SingTel 1G Fiber.
We were given a SingTel router and a pair of Askey AP5100W.
The router was connected to the modem and it uses one SSID.
One of the Askey AP5100W was connected to the modem also thru ETH1 and it uses another SSID.
While the other Askey AP5100W was on its solo (guess wifi connected to the 1st Askey).

anything wrong with settings?
should the Askey mesh and the router use a same SSID ?
should the 1st Askey mesh connect to the modem directly or the router ?

your input, thanks.

ONT -- AirTies -- AC Plus (WiFi off?). If WiFi Off, what is the use of the AC Plus? Used as a Ethernet switch?

As for the speed, do you mean the wireless speed or wired speed?

If it is wired speed, then you need to contact SingTel to troubleshoot. You may need to replace the ONT.

If it is wireless, then it is pretty normal as the speed depends on the client too. Most of the clients are at most 2x2 AC and the theoretical max speed is 866Mbps but practically you will not get that. What is the client used for testing?

What do you mean by Modem? Do you mean the ONR?

I will suggest not using the AC Plus router. Just use the two Askey using same SSID to see if it is good enough or not. First unit connected to one ONR port using Ethernet.

If you still want to use the AC Plus (connect to one ONR port, function as an AP), make sure it is a bit away from the two Askey units. Use one SSID for the AC Plus and another SSID for the two Askey.

Yes, ONR.

Looks like my current settings is right, according to you.
while, in the overlapping area, I have to manually switch in between two SSIDs in order to get best speed.

I thought Askey Mesh connect to AC Plus router and they use same SSID.

Thanks.

Singtel, i'm currently using the Airties 4920 (2 units) for 2 years. Yesterday,i purchased 2 more 4920 units from online(used units) and was unable to get connection for it.

Reset had been done for the 2 new units and both units shown 5g and 2.4g were connected (green light). But there was no wifi connectivity for the 2 units and when i checked via the ip under MESH tab, it shows that both of them had 0% connection. I'm unable to check the firmware too for this 2 units.
