Interesting that they have increased the limit from RMB2000 to RMB5000. Nice move.

I read the service agreement and it does not mention Taobao purchase.

BTW, the service agreement does mention China visa but it is probably not enforced.

I used tour pass to taobao, 1688, pingduoduo and weidian until sibei happy. Linked my tour pass with Youtrip mastercard debit card. Sibei good rate. Very close to google rate. tour pass FAQs mention can use for taobao

On the tour pass mini app, there is 3 dots on the top left. Tap on that 3 dots, tap again the "help". This will bring up the FAQs. Go to the next page and next page, on the final 2 question, it did mention can be used for taobao and other online payment.

But how do u pay? Taobao checkout payment does not reflect tourpass as payment mode, only can choose from credit card and Alipay balance to do so.

For the tour pass maximum balance, is it once you hit this amount you just cannot add anymore from that point? Or you can use up and then re-top up?

Yes. Set up tourpass and you will be able to link your Singapore credit card to Alipay.

Once it’s set up it is very convenient, no need to keep keying in your card details and you can choose to top up any amount and they will just auto charge to your credit card.

Maximum balance in the wallet is 2000 RMB at any one time. Can keep topping up as and when you need more

Total top up is capped a RMB5000 for every 90days period. You cannot top up once this is hit even if your wallet is less than RMB2000. Experienced this myself last week in China.

Cannot pay with alipay

after I bought the tour pass, I am not able to use it for payment in China. After I scan the merchant QR code, I was prompted for the payment password. I entered correctly, and then the app says “transaction got risk, will be terminated” (rough translation from Chinese )

My alipay has been linked before with dbs card, and made purchase in Taobao.

But first time travel to China.. and first time use tour pass.
Any bro here experience before?

Knn, after so much merry-go-round, we are still going merry-go-round. I just updated my alipay app, and i can't even find the tour pass section!! Under "Fund Transfer", I can only see Red Packet and Family Center. Tour Pass is missing!!

Edit: Knn, the Tour Pass mini-app can only be access thru a search on the app. Pui!!

Try to register another Alipay account.

Try to set up a different account.

The risk detection mechanism from Alipay and Wechat Pay are not transparent and it is not easy to get pass the risk detection once it is triggered.

Happened to me before a few days ago.

I did a online chat via the app with the SCO, the usage resumed the next day. Try it!

How to chat in the app? I topped up 2000 and used it then cannot add anymore.

Or is there any way to switch to another credit card? I don't see any way to unlink the current card.

If you do not want to search for TourPass everytime you want to access it, there is an option to "add it to desktop", such that it can be launched directly from its own icon on your phone. AliPay also shows search history.
